Schulenburg Police Report: People, Dogs, Accidents Keeping Officers Busy
Schulenburg Police Report Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Nov. 21-27.
Agency Assist
On Nov. 24, Sgt. Tobey McFadden assisted in locating a traffic accident on Hwy. 90 west of Birdhouse Hill Rd.
Alarm
On Nov. 24, Officer Frank Parkinson responded to the 500 block of N. Main for an alarm.
Animal Complaint
On Nov. 23, Officer Hailie Vincent responded to the 1100 block of Hillje for a pit bull being off of a chain and chasing people in the road. Owner of dog was contacted and advised to put the dog back on chain.
On Nov. 23, Vincent responded to the 200 block of Black for a dog left at a house after the renters left. Office contacted owner of dog and she advised she had moved and thought her ex boyfriend still lived there. Officer advised she needed to get the dog or there will be criminal charges pursued. Owner advised she would get the dog.
On Nov. 25, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 120 block of Summit for a deer that was hit by a vehicle and still alive but injured. Due to the deer being severely injured the deer was put down.
On Nov. 27, Vincent responded to the 100 block of Old Hwy. 90 Loop for two dogs chasing a deer. The dogs were returned to the owner.
On Nov. 27, Vincent responded to the 1100 bock of Hillje in regard to dogs having food and water and shelter.
Civil Matter
On Nov. 23, Vincent was dispatched to the 800 block of Simpson for a civil standby.
On Nov. 24, Parkinson was dispatched to the 600 block of Upton for a civil matter.
Disturbance
On Nov. 24, Parkinson was dispatched to the parking lot of O’Reilly’s where a couple was fighting.
Hit & Run
On Nov. 21, McFadden assisted with a stop for a hit and run driver in the 600 block of E. I-10.
On Nov. 23, Officer Juan Casilleja was dispatched to the 600 block of Upton for an individual who advised of a hit and run.
Suspicious Vehicle
On Nov. 26, Kalina was dispatched to the 300 block of S. Main for a suspicious vehicle with a male subject. Officer was unable to locate.
Traffic Hazard
On Nov. 22, Vincent was stopped with an 18-wheeler parked on Hwy. 77 and driver was advised to move the truck.
Traffic Stop/Assist
On Nov. 22, Castilleja was dispatched to Highway 77 and I-10 for a disabled motorist. The vehicle was moved off of the roadway.
On Nov. 22, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 1500 block of Kessler for displaying an obscured license plate. A warning was issued.
On Nov. 25, Kalina stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Kessler for no license plate lights. A citation was issued.
On Nov. 25, Sgt. Rusty Roggenkamp conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding.
On Nov. 26, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 80 block of Kessler for speeding.
On Nov. 26, Roggenkamp stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for disregarding a traffic light. The driver was given a warning.
On Nov. 26, Roggenkamp stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for disregarding a red light. A warning was issued.
On Nov. 27, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of Kessler for a vehicle with an obscured license plate. The driver informed the officer that he did not have a driver’s license.
Miscellaneous
On Nov. 21, McFadden was dispatched to the 1600 block of James Ave. for a female wanting to report a stolen car from five years ago and an assault from today.
On Nov. 25, Parkinson was dispatched to the 1000 block of Bohlmann for a suspicious person.
On Nov. 25, McFadden was dispatched to the 1000 block of Hwy. 90 for a person walking in the lane of traffic throwing things. Officer made contact and advised the individual to stay off the road.
On Nov. 26, Castilleja observed a disabled 18-wheeler in the 10 block of Kessler and notified dispatch and after attempting to get vehicle running a wrecker was called.
