Schulenburg Police Report

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Sept. 13-19.

Accident

On Sept. 14, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 200 block of Upton for a two-vehicle accident.

Citizen Assist

On Sept. 15, Officer James Whited responded to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a citizen assist in the parking lot of Pilot. Complainant advised she had been hit by another vehicle while she was in her car.

Civil Matter

On Sept. 17, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 300 block of Bucek for a civil dispute over child custody.

Suspicious Person

On Sept. 19, Castilleja observed an individual in the 200 block of S. Main near the railroad tracks. The individual had a bucket with individual railroad spikes. Man was picking up loose spikes laying in the rocks. Office informed him to park off the roadway.

Disturbance

On Sept. 19, Castilleja was dispatched to the 600 block of E. I-10 for a disturbance in a vehicle. Officer spoke with individuals, and they were fine but were afraid one of them were getting sick and needing to pull over.

Harassment

On Sept. 14, Krenek was dispatched to the 300 block of Bucek to view a video posted by a 5th grade student.

Traffic Stop

On Sept. 14, Castilleja stopped a driver for speeding in a school zone in the 100 block of Kessler. Driver received a citation. On Sept. 16, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 1200 block of Summit for a driver speeding going 55 in a 45.

On Sept. 16, Powe stopped a driver in the 100-block o f N. Kessler for expired registration (8-26) Driver received a warning.

On Sept. 17, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for expired registration. Driver received a warning.

On Sept. 17, Powe stopped a driver for speeding in a school zone in the 100 block of N. Kessler going 42 in a 25. Driver received a citation.

Violation of Protective Order On Sept. 13, Powe responded to the 200-block of St. John Road for a subject calling 911 multiple times. Subject arrested for unrelated matter.

Welfare Check

On Sept. 17, Krenek was asked to standby with a student refusing to go into the classroom. The student walked into the classroom without incident.
