Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Nov.9-15.
Animal Complaint
On Nov. 9, Officer Hailee Vincent was dispatched to the 200 Block of Heinrich where a resident had left a cat at the hotel by accident. Hotel staff had managed to get the cat and put in a kennel at the animal control office of Gina Hardin.
On Nov. 13, Officer MD Krenek was advised of three Husky’s running at large in the elementary staff parking lot. Officer was unable to locate.
On Nov. 13, Officer Reyden Svatek was advised of a pig running loose near West Avenue and Anderson. Officer found a potbellied pig that was in the 600 block of West Avenue. Pig was placed back in the yard and gate closed. No pigs were hurt in the process.
Agency Assist
On Nov. 10, Officer James Whited was dispatched to the 1000 block of Summit to assist with a burglary that occurred in Lavaca County and the vehicle was headed back to Schulenburg.
On Nov. 10, Whited was dispatched to the 600 block of FM 2672 to assist with a welfare check. No one was at the location.
Burglary
On Nov. 14, Whited was dispatched to the 500 block of Paulus for a burglary.
Disturbance
On Nov. 12, Svatek was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a disturbance.
Fire
On Nov. 10, Whited was dispatched to the 300 block of Summit regarding flames coming from a home that burned down. Fire had been extinguished earlier but a small fire erupted again.
Fire Alarm
On Nov. 11, Krenek heard the four alarm activated at the old gym in the 500 block of Shorthorn Drive. Principle advised it was a false alarm a basketball had hit the alarm.
Harassment
On Nov. 9, Vincent responded to the 300 block of Kessler for a harassment call.
On Nov. 14, Whited was dispatched to the 1500 block of S. Kessler for harassment.
Suspicious Person
On Nov. 13, Krenek was advised by the elementary secretary of a suspicious male wearing a camo jacket that walked into the school lounge and is unknown what or why he is there. Officer met with subject that advised he was subbing for someone and had been directed to the lounge restroom. Shots Fired
On Nov. 13, Svatek responded to the 900 block of Herder where caller advised they heard 12 shots toward the southeast of her house. Officer checked the area and could not locate anything.
Theft
On Nov. 12, Sgt. Toby McFadden responded to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a theft.
Traffic Stop
On Nov. 9, Officer Juan Castilleja stopped a driver for disregarding a red light in the 600 block of Kessler. Driver was issued a warning.
On Nov. 10, Whited while at the intersection of Summit and Kessler observed a white vehicle with a small child inside climbing back into the front seat from the back seat. Driver was issued a citation.
On Nov. 11, Whited stopped a driver in the 82 block of N. Kessler for speeding in a school zone pulling a trailer with an expired registration (11-24) Driver issued a warning for speeding and cited for trailer registration being expired.
On Nov. 12, Svatek stopped a driver in the 200 block of Kessler for disregarding a red light. Driver had an expired driver’s license (9-2614) Driver issued a citation.
On Nov. 12, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 80 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Citation was issued.
Terroristic Threat
On Nov. 10, Krenek was advised of a student making a threat toward classmates stating they would stab other students. The school will act.
On Nov. 13, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 80 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Driver received a citation.
