Schulenburg Police Report Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Nov. 2-7.

Assault

On Nov. 6, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 100 block of Hummingbird Avenue for an active disturbance. One subject was arrested as a result.

Accident

On Nov. 3, Officer Juan Castilleja responded to the 22 block of Kessler for a minor accident.

Animal Complaint

On Nov. 3, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden took a report about a missing dog in the 1000 block of Summit.

On Nov. 6, Harden was dispatched to the 700 block of Baumgarten to deliver two traps for trapping cats.

Agency Assist

On Nov. 5, Officer Reyden Svatek assisted the Sheriff’s Dept for an arrest for theft of property in the 1500 block of Highway 77.

Burglary

On Nov. 6, Powe responded to a residential burglary in the 300 block of South Street.

Citizen Assist

On Nov. 3, Castilleja was dispatched to the 500 block of Summit in reference to a stalled vehicle. A wrecker was notified.

Civil Matter

On Nov. 6, Officer James Whited was dispatched to the 200 block of W. I-10 frontage for a civil matter at America’s Best.

On Nov. 2, Svatek was dispatched to the 800 block of North Street regarding child custody.

Disturbance

On Nov. 3, Svatek responded to the 25 block of N.

Kessler for a disturbance.

Theft

On Nov. 2, Whited was dispatched to the 25 block of N. Kessler regarding a theft in the store and subject left on a bicycle. Subject was seen on video taking candy and left. Officer could not locate.

Traffic Stop

On Nov. 3, Castilleja conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Kessler for a driver speeding in a school zone. Citation was issued.

On Nov. 3, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 200 block of Kessler for a driver that disregarded a red light. A warning was issued.

On Nov. 3, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.

On Nov. 4, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. Driver was issued a warning.

On Nov. 6, Whited stopped a driver in the 82 block of N. Kessler for speeding and operating a hand held device (phone) in a school zone. Warning issued for speeding and a citation for phone.

Traffic Hazard

On Nov. 5, Whited responded to the 1200 block of N. Kessler for a bag of trash and broken up insulation and wood blowing all over the roadway. City was contacted and officer took the trash bag.

On Nov. 5, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was dispatched to the 700 block of Summit for a concrete truck with a blow out with debris on the roadway. Officer assisted with clean up as a wrecker would not be out for an extended period.

Welfare Check

On Nov. 3, Castilleja responded to the 1100 block of James Avenue for a welfare check.

On Nov. 7, Officer MD Krenek was asked to do a welfare check for a student that has not been at school for a week. Upon arrival in the 600 block of Upton the officer was advised by the neighbor the child has medical issues and at the doctor’s office.
