Schulenburg Police Report

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Jan. 16-22.

Agency Assist

On Jan. 16, Sgt. Tobey McFadden assisted EMS at Hwy.77 and Holub Rd. where a subject stabbed himself.

Animal Complaint

On Jan. 22, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 600 block of Upton for an animal complaint.

Disturbance

On Jan. 16, Officer Frank Parkinson was dispatched to the 1100 block of August St. for a disturbance. Both parties refused to separate for the night and assured Sgt. McFadden he would to get called out again.

On Jan. 16, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 800 block of Simpson for a family disturbance. Subjects had to be forcibly detained and the incident was ultimately defused.

On Jan. 19, Kalina responded to the 400 block of E. Summit for a disturbance. Officer learned an assault had occurred.

On Jan. 20, McFadden was dispatched to the 500 block of Summit for a disturbance in the parking lot where one Hispanic male would not let another get into his car. The disturbance was over money and only verbal. Both parties were separated.

On Jan. 22, Officer Hailee Vincent was dispatched to the 500 block of College to the Junior High gym in reference to parents out of control at a Junior High basketball tournament.

Suspicious Person/Vehicle

On Jan. 22, Castilleja responded to the 500 block of N. Main for a suspicious person on N. Main. Officer identified the subject and he was new to the area and all was fine.

Traffic Stop

On Jan. 17, Castilleja made traffic stop in the 100 block of Kessler for a vehicle without license plate lights. A warning was issued.

On Jan. 17, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 10 block of Kessler on a vehicle with no license plate lights. A warning was issued.

On Jan. 17, Vincent stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Kessler for use of wireless communication device in school zone. Driver was issued a citation for use of cell phone in school zone.

On Jan. 18, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 80 block of Kessler for a vehicle speeding. A warning was issued.

On Jan. 18, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation was issued.

On Jan. 22, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 10 block of Kessler for failure to yield and expired registration. Warnings were issued.

On Jan. 22, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for a vehicle driving without headlights when required. A warning was issued.
