Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the weeks of Dec. 12-25.
Animal Complaint
On Dec. 13, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was dispatched to the 100 block of Simpson for a subject that believed a neighbor hurt his cat.
On Dec. 14, McFadden responded to Greenwood for a dog with aggressive behavior.
On Dec. 18, McFadden responded to the 1100 block of Hillje Ave. in reference to dog with no shelter. Officer will attempt to reach out to dog’s owners.
Accident
On Dec. 14, McFadden was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a minor accident in the parking lot.
Agency Assist
On Dec. 17, McFadden was dispatched to the 200 block of St. John Rd. for a 10-month-old breathing but not responsive. Officer made contact with family and waited for EMS to arrive. The child was alert.
Civil Matter
On Dec. 13, McFadden spoke with complainant at the police station in regard to child custody.
On Dec. 17, McFadden responded to the 600 block of Upton for a child exchange.
On Dec. 17, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 1200 block of Babylon in regard to an 18-wheeler driving into a yard and causing ruts. Kalina took all information.
On Dec. 22, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 600 block of Upton in reference to disagreement with a rent house. Office advised it was a civil mater and to speak to the JP about the issue.
Disturbance
On Dec. 14, Officer Frank Parkinson responded the 700 block of N. Kessler for a subject that was blocking another driver at the pump. He refused to leave and was trespassing after he had been asked to leave by Pilot. Driver was asked for his drivers license and refused and was then placed into custody. The driver finally cooperated and released and vacated the property.
On Dec. 14, Parkinson responded to the 200 block of Schultz for a man talking loud and sounded like he was fighting with someone.
On Dec. 14, McFadden was dispatched to the 1200 block of Summit for yelling inside of a house. Upon arrival there was a female and small children in the residence. Officer spoke to a male that was yelling on the phone and at his cats.
On Dec. 18, Parkinson responded to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a disturbance and calmed the issue.
Suspicious Vehicle/Person
On Dec. 12, Officer Juan Castilleja attempted to locate a suspicious vehicle on East Ave.
On Dec. 13, Parkinson responded to the 700 block of Kessler for an adult and three suspicious kids hanging around and was concerned.
On Dec. 25, Officer Juan Castilleja did a security check at the sports complex and came across a suspicious vehicle. The officer identified the two individuals in the vehicle and neither had a driver’s license. Officer advised them to call someone with a license to take the vehicle home.
Vehicle Pursuit
On Dec. 23, Kalina attempted a traffic stop and a pursuit ensued.
Stolen Car
On Dec. 19, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was contacted by a parent about his daughter and a 15-year-old boy that stole a car.
Terroristic Threat
On Dec. 14, Parkinson responded to the 700 block of N. Kessler where an attendant asked driver to move but the driver said he is within his rights to shoot her for waking him up. Driver was gone upon arrival.
Traffic Stop
On Dec. 12, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Summit for a vehicle that disregarded a red light and speeding. Driver was issued a citation.
On Dec. 12, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for an obscured license plate. A verbal warning was issued.
On Dec. 15, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of N. Kessler for driver not having headlights when required. A warning was issued.
On Dec. 15, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 100 bock of Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.
On Dec. 15, Sgt. Rusty Roggenkamp observed a vehicle in the 300 block of Summit run a light when it was still red. The driver advised she believed it to be green. She was issued a citation.
On Dec. 15, Roggenkamp stopped a vehicle for speeding in a school zone in the 100 block of Kessler. The driver was going 43 in a 25. A citation was issued.
On Dec. 15, Castilleja stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 80 block of Kessler. A warning was issued.
On Dec. 16, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Summit for no license plate light. A warning was issued.
On Dec. 17, McFadden stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding going 38 in a 25-school zone. Driver issued a citation.
On Dec. 20, Officer Frank Parkinson noticed a vehicle parked blocking an entire entrance and part of his trailer was blocking the right hand lane of Highway 77. A citation was issued after the driver advised he was waiting on his food from Whataburger.
On Dec. 20, Castilleja conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of East Ave. for driving without headlights when required. A warning was issued.
On Dec. 21, Castilleja conducted a traffic stop in the 40 block of Kessler for a vehicle for defective headlamp. A warning was issued.
On Dec. 21, Castilleja conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Kessler for vehicle disregarding a red light. Warning was issued.
Welfare Check
On Dec. 13, Parkinson did a welfare check in the 600 block of Upton Ave.
On Dec. 18, Parkinson did welfare check in the 1500 block of Kellett.
Miscellaneous
On Dec. 13, McFadden was dispatched to the 500 block of Summit for a possible break in. Office observed a large front glass busted and shattered but no signs of anyone inside of the building. Officer assisted on getting a glass company to the scene.
On Dec. 15, Officer Hailee Vincent spoke with individual about a brindle female pit bull that may have fallen out of their trailer on I-10 somewhere between Columbus and Schulenburg.
On Dec. 19, McFadden was dispatched to the 14 N. Kessler address for two men harassing customers for money. Officer was unable to locate the subjects.
On Dec. 19, Parkinson responded to the 1100 block of Simpson for a semi parked in front of her home making to much noise for her to be able to sleep. The driver was taken to an area to park.
On Dec. 21, Castilleja was dispatched to Pilot in the 700 block of N. Kessler in reference to an 18-wheeler parked on the roadway. Spoke to the drive and he moved.
On Dec. 21, Castilleja was dispatched to the 700 block of Kessler for an 18-wheeler stuck in the underpass.
On Dec. 23, McFadden was asked to sit at Fayetteville Bank by the manager due to a subject watching and waiting in the parking lot for one of his employees.
