Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Cheif Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Nov. 7-13.
Animal Complaint
On Nov. 7, Officer Frank Parkinson responded to the 600 block of Upton for dogs running loose while a man was walking with his wife and kids. Dogs were gone upon officers arrival.
Agency Assist
On Nov. 9, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 700 block of N. Kessler to assist with a male subject whose CO2 monitor was going off in his motor home. EMS checked him and he was fine. It was more than likely the 18-wheeler exhaust he was parked next to that had caused the alarm.
Alarm
On Nov. 12, Parkinson was dispatched to the 200 block of South St. for a living room alarm going off. Checked the home and all was secure.
Criminal Trespass
On Nov. 10, Kalina was dispatched to the 1100 block of Pierce to issue a criminal trespass on a subject.
Disturbance
On Nov. 10, Officer Brent Gindler responded to the 500 block of Simpson for a disturbance between a father and daughter.
On Nov 11, Parkinson was dispatched to the 1500 block of Kellett for a disturbance.
Fight in Progress
On Nov. 8, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 500 block of College for a fight in progress. It was handled through the school.
Harassment
On Nov. 13, Kalina responded to Kessler Ave. for subjects at Family Dollar harassing an individual. The complainant advised it was an on going spat over a guy. Subjects had left upon officer’s arrival.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On Nov. 7, Gindler responded to the 600 block of N. Kessler for someone behind the tire shop looking at used tires. Officer identified the subject that advised he was looking for a used tire and he had called the number to the shop and they told him he could look. Officer was unable to contact the shop and told individual to leave.
On Nov. 13, Vincent was dispatched to the 100 block of Simpson for a suspicious person knocking on the door.
Traffic Stop
On Nov. 7, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 8000 block of Kessler for speeding and also had an open container. A citation was given.
On Nov. 7, Parkinson observed a vehicle in the 1100 block of Bohlmann and a male was entertaining a lady in his car. I advised the park was closed and issued warnings to both before letting them go.
On Nov. 8, Vincent stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 200 block of Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.
On Nov. 8, Meagher stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Driver also had an expired registration from 2019. Citation was issued.
On Nov. 8, Vincent stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 38 in a 25. A citation was issued.
On Nov. 9, Sgt. Rusty Roggenkamp stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 100 block of Kessler. Driver was issued a warning.
On Nov. 9, Roggenkamp stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.
On Nov. 9, Office Duane Meager stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of College for using a wireless device in a school zone. Driver was issued a warning and advised this was her only break.
On Nov. 9, Meagher stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Bucek for speeding in a school zone. Driver was issued citation for violation of license restriction and speeding.
On Nov. 9, Roggenkamp stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 100 block of Kessler. A warning was issued.
On Nov. 9, Vincent stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 300 block of Kessler and a warning was issued.
On Nov. 9, Vincent stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 37 in a 25. Driver advised she was eating a Whataburger and did not see the school zone sign. A citation was issued.
On Nov. 9, Vincent stopped a vehicle for speeding in a school zone going 37 in a 25. Driver did not have insurance and citations were issued.
On Nov. 11, Meagher stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone and a citation was issued.
On Nov. 11, Meagher stopped a vehicle for speeding in a school zone in the 100 block of Kessler. Driver had no driver’s license. Citation issued.
On Nov. 11, Meagher stopped a vehicle for speeding in a school zone in the 400 block of Bucek and a citation was issued.
On Nov. 11, Sgt. Tobey McFadden stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Upton and Summit for failing to signal at the required distance and a warning for failure to change address.
On Nov. 11, Parkinson observed a vehicle parked in a no parking zone. One of the many things were right in front of him and he then returned with a semi on back with a different license plate on it. The registration had expired as well and citations were issued for all violations.
Welfare Check
On Nov. 7, Parkinson responded to the 500 block of College to check on an individual. The person as fine and just working ad will check in before leaving.
Miscellaneous
On Nov. 11, McFadden was contacted by EMS Director Josh Vandever in reference of an ambulance doing over 50 mph in a school zone for a fall victim in a nursing home. Vandever requested I notify the captain and speak to the crew after the call was complete. Officer spoke to the driver.
On Nov. 13, Vincent was dispatched to the 500 block of West Ave. for a 911 hang-up after a woman advised a woman pulled her hair. Officer met with individual and they advised they were brushing her hair when she got upset and said they were brushing it too hard. They advised they stopped brushing her hair when she asked them to.
