Schulenburg Police Report

Schulenburg Police Cheif Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Sept. 26 through Oct. 2.

Animal Complaint

On Sept. 29, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was dispatched to the 1200 block of Simpson in reference to some kittens under a truck. Three small kittens were recovered without incident and were given to the Kubenka Family.

On Oct. 1, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 600 block of Upton where a woman traveling stopped to let her dog take a bathroom break and the dog got loose and ran across the road. Officer took information.

Agency Assist

On Sept. 28, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 100 block of College in reference to resident throwing objects at the staff. Officer was able to get the individual calmed down.

Accident

On Sept. 28, Officer Hailee Vincent was dispatched to the 1600 block of W. Summit for a vehicle accident. One driver was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way.

Civil Matter

On Oct. 1, Officer Duane Meager was dispatched to the 600 block of Upton where complainant advised her ex was late for child exchange of their child.

On Oct. 1, Sgt. Rusty Roggenkamp was dispatched to the 600 block of Upton in reference to child custody. Complainant advised his ex wife did not show up to a child exchange.

Disturbance

On Sept. 26, Officer Frank Parkinson responded to the 900 block of Eilers for a disturbance.

On Oct. 1, Vincent responded to the 100 block of Cardinal Avenue for a verbal disturbance Parties were separated for the night. Fire

Fire

Sept 26, Officer Brent Gindler responded to the 1100 block of Summit where individual was mowing around hay bales and they caught several on fire.

Reckless Driving

On Sept. 28, Castilleja was dispatched to the 700 block of Baumgarten for a reckless driver. Upon arrival talked with complainant who advised the vehicle was fish tailing on Baumgarten in front of her house and almost struck a parked vehicle.

Traffic Stop

On Sept. 27, Roggenkamp conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Kessler on a vehicle for disregarding a red light.

On Sept. 27, Roggenkamp observed a black Dodge Challenger speeding in a school zone in the 100 block of Kessler. Driver was issued a citation for going 46 in a 25.

On Sept. 27, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 80 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation was issued. On Sept. 27, Meager stopped

On Sept. 27, Meager stopped an 18 wheeler parked in the turn lane on Hwy. 77 and a warning was issued for parking in a prohibited area.

On Sept. 27, Castilleja conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Upton for a vehicle with no license plate lights. When speaking with the operator he informed the officer that he did not have a drivers license and could not provide insurance for the vehicle. Citations were issued.

On Sept. 27, Vincent stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Kessler for speeding and a citation was issued for no drivers’ license.

On Sept. 27, Vincent made contact with some individuals in the 300 block of Shwartz Blvd. at the sports complex that matched the vehicle description of individual’s smoking marijuana around lunchtime. Officer made contact and searched the vehicle and found several empty bags that smelled like marijuana. Driver of vehicle was issued a citation for no drivers’ license and school and coaches were notified.

On Sept. 28, Vincent stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 200 block of Kessler and subject was issued a citation for failure to maintain financial responsibility.

On Sept. 29, Gindler stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Kessler for running a red light.

On Sept. 29, Gindler stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 1000 block of Kessler and a citation for speeding and no insurance were issued.

On Sept. 29, Gindler stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 300 block of Kessler and a citation was issued.

On Sept. 29, Gindler issued a speeding citation to individual in the 40 block of Kessler.

On Sept. 30, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. When asked if there was an emergency she stated she did not have air conditioning in the car. A citation was issued for speeding.
