Schulenburg Police Investigating Festival Vehicle Burglaries

Schulenburg Police investigated two vehicle burglaries that took place near Wolters Park during the Schulenburg Festival last weekend.

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek said the burglaries were reported around 12:10 a.m. on Saturday morning. The vehicles were parked next to each other. The vehicles were locked. Whomever was responsible broke the passenger windows of both vehicles to gain entry.

The first vehicle was a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup. Taken from inside were a pistol, a backpack, a personal taser, purse, documents and keys. The second vehicle was a 2019 Nissan car. Taken from that vehicle were a backpack, cash and a men’s wallet with credit cards and other personal documents.

The vehicles were parked in the 1100 block of South Street. Both victims were from out of town and were in Schulenburg to attend the Festival, Brenek said.
