Schulenburg PD Logs Busy Week of Assists, Traffic Stops and Welfare Checks

Schulenburg Police Report Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Oct. 26-31.

Agency Assist

On Oct. 27, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 600 block of E. I-10 to assist DPS to locate a subject who fled on foot after a vehicle pursuit.

Animal Complaint

On Oct. 30, Animal Control officer Gina Harden while stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of James and Kallus, heard a kitten meow. Harden found the kitten In the wheel well and took to the animal shelter.

Citizen Assist

On Oct. 27, Officer James Whited spoke with individual in the 1200 block of Lyons regarding a leaning communication pole.

On Oct. 31, Harden received a call from individual requesting dog food.

Civil Matter

On Oct. 28, Whited responded to the 500 block of Paulus for a civil matter On Oct. 28, Whited responded to the 1000 block of Kessler for a civil matter.

On Oct. 30, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 500 block of Paulus for a civil matter.

Disturbance

On Oct. 29, Officer Hailee Vincent was dispatched to the 1000 block of Kessler for a disturbance.

Possession

On Oct. 30, Officer Bryon Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 90 in a 75. Driver and passenger were both arrested.

Traffic Hazard

On Oct. 30, Powe observed an 18 Wheeler with hazard lights on blocking the northbound lane of Hwy 77. Driver advised of mechanical trouble; a wrecker was called.

Traffic Stop

On Oct. 26, Vincent stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for running a red light. Driver advised he needed to urinate really bad and he was in a hurry. Officer advised of the importance of driving safely.

On Oct. 27, Whited stopped a driver in the 82 block of N. Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A warning was issued.

On Oct. 29, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.

Welfare Check

On Oct. 27, Whited did a welfare check in the 500 block of Paulus.

On Oct. 27, Whited took a complaint from an individual that came to the police station to report an assault that happened at a church function. Complainant wanted it documented.

On Oct. 27, Whited responded to the 500 block of Paulus for a welfare check.

On Oct. 28, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 900 block of Eilers to check on a welfare concern.

On Oct. 29, Krenek did a welfare check in the 800 block of Wolf Street On Oct. 29, Krenek was dispatched to the 300 block of Bucek for a welfare concern.
