Schulenburg Felon Arrested For Possession of a Firearm

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports that officers responded to 144 calls for service during the week of Aug. 21-27.

On Aug. 22, Officer Kalina conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Paulus and issued the driver a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia. The passenger was issued a MIP alcohol citation.

Officer Kalina also responded to Dollar General Store regarding a theft.

On Aug. 24, Officer Taylor responded to City Market regarding reckless damage involving an over size 18 wheeler.

On Aug. 25, Officer Castilleja assisted Fayette County Sheriff Department with a pursuit.

Office Kalina conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of N. Main St for defective equipment. The driver was issued a citation for possession of marijuana.

On Aug. 27, Sgt. McFadden arrested 62-year-old Alan Joseph Mendel of Schulenburg for a warrant for possession of firearm by a felon.

On Sgt. McFadden, arrested 31-year-old Jessica Marie Bower of Houston for evading arrest/detention with a vehicle.
