Schmeckenfest Planning Begins, Deadline to Enter is October 25

Join La Grange Main Street this year for its 14th Annual Schmeckenfest celebration on Thursday, Dec. 2.

Schmeckenfest is La Grange’s wassail tasting and Christmas extravaganza. The planning of festivities has already begun. This year’s theme is “Christmas around the World.” Be on the lookout all around the square for the return of the parade, the lighting of the county Christmas tree, visit from Santa, engaging kid’s activities, and, of course wassail tasting and food booths of all kinds.

There are a few noteworthy changes to this year’s event. The parade is limited to 15 entries. So get in those applications early! For all wishing to try their hand at becoming the Schmeckenmeister, host a wassail tasting booth. Nonprofits can also get in on the fun by selling food for their cause. Wassail and food booths are assigned on a first come, first served basis.

Deadlines for entry are rapidly approaching. Parade and Wassail/Food entries need to be submitted prior to Oct. 25.
