Santa to Visit Faison House Saturday

Everyone is invited to the Open House at the Faison House located at 822 S. Jefferson St. (US Hwy. 77 South) on Saturday, Dec. 18. The Victorian style House has been decorated for the holidays. Visiting hours and tours begin at 12 noon and Santa will be there from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring your cameras to have pictures taken of children and families visiting with Santa. There are no entry fees.

The N. W. Faison home was built in three separate sections during the period from approximately 1840 to 1880. As a result, it is a rare example of the development of residential construction in Texas history. The back sections typify the modest homes of Texas pioneers while the front section is in the more ornate style of the early Victoria period, when homes were a reflection of wealth and status. The home is furnished with many of its original furnishings and is listed on the Texas Historical Commission Registry.

The home is owned by the La Grange Garden Club and supported by the Faison Preservation Society, Inc. (501-c3 tax exempt corporation).
