Samaritan’s Purse Wraps Up It’s 20th, and Final, Hope Hill House

The faith within a person can make anything possible, the love within a neighborhood can make things easier, but hope, well hope within a community makes it all come together.

A huge part of that hope for the perfectly named Hope Hill community was done by Samaritan’s Purse and just this past week they wrapped up their 20th and final home at Hope Hill.

“They won’t have to worry about flooding anymore,” said Brent Graybeal, director of U.S. recovery and development for Samaritan’s Purse. “This is a new start for them. Many of the homeowners here are believers and they have held onto their faith. They now have a brandnew community.”

Samaritan’s Purse volunteer teams started working on the homes in February of last year. Along with the volunteers, the new Hope Hill residents themselves helped one another during the rebuilding process of their own homes and their neighbors’ homes.

“Samaritan’s Purse has done more for this community than we could thank them for,” said Mayor Janet Moerbe. “It warms the heart to know that there are people out there that don’t know you but care about you and pray for you and that they will work and help our community and our citizens in the face of a disaster.”

“Samaritan’s Purse rebuilt & dedicated the 20th & final home in La Grange, TX, with the help of hundreds of volunteers. All of these homes were for families who were displaced after Hurricane Harvey, & each one is paid in full as a reminder of how Jesus paid our debt of sin.”
