RT-Carmine Class of 1950 Reunites

The Round Top-Carmine Class of 1950 held their 71-year class reunion on July 17 at JW’s Steakhouse in Carmine. They were very happy to meet again, after cancelling their 70-year reunion last year due to COVID-19. RT-C School News

Registration for the 2021-2022 school year is open on Parent Portal. This year, online registration will be required as no paper packets will be available. Registration documents need to be completed before the start of school on August 23 for all returning and students new to the district. This is a separate process from new student enrollment (a one-time requirement). Go to the Round Top Carmine ISD website for details. If you have questions call your child’s campus at 979-966-6118 for Jr. High and High School or 979-249-3200 for elementary.

Carmine VFD

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department had a successful fundraiser last Sunday. They sold almost 1800 plates in the drivethru fried chicken meal.

Drill Night is the second Thursday in August.

Prost Casino Night

Carmine Chamber of Commerce will sponsor their Prost Casino Night with a German theme on Saturday, August 14 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Carmine Hall. Enjoy a joyful German atmosphere and entertainment along with beer and wine.

Reserved tables for 8 are available. Individual tickets are $30. Enjoy Gary’s famous chicken-fried-steak meal, a rifle drawing, and games. Tickets are available in advance at Carmine State Bank or by calling (979) 451-1507. Proceeds support the Carmine Chamber’s many projects.

MLLC News

Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m. Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.

Sunday worship with Holy Communion, observing the 10th Sunday after Pentecost is at 10 a.m. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

Recycle

The Recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.

Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans.

The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m. on Thursdays behind Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.

Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10-2.
