RT-C ISD to Require Masks at School Through End of Year

Round Top-Carmine High School baseball team plays at Iola March 26. They host Mumford March 30.
March 26 is a holiday due to the Fayette County Jr. Livestock Show.
RT-C ISD will continue the face mask requirements through the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. Wearing masks allows the school to keep kids safe, out of quarantine, and able to attend school in-person if a positive case occurs

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department annual meeting with election of officers is on March 25 at 7 p.m. New members are welcome.
Rebekah Group
The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met March 11. They did not meet in February due to the cold weather. Eight members were present, including Leonita Sanders, Joys Baird, Susan Ray, Barbara Jacob, Diana Wunderlich, Sedalia Ullrich, Dianna Gerland and Nancy Eilers.
Birthday celebrants for March were Barbara Jacob and Diana Wunderlich. (February birthdays included Leonita Sanders, Ora Lee Levien, and Dianne Sager.)
The Bible study was led by Joys Baird with the theme “Journeys with Angels; Loneliness, abandonment, and holy comfort.”
Susan Ray, president, called the meeting to order.
Correspondence included a thank you note from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Santa program for the $500 sent there.
Fifteen quilts were assembled March 8 for Lutheran World Relief.
It was decided at the WELCA Unit meeting that the banquet will not be held this year. Also, at that meeting, discussion was held to possibly have the turkey and dressing meal as a drive-through.
Quite a few Yearbooks are left and ladies are asked to help distribute them. It was decided to plan to make 10 Baby Care kits.
Lutheran World Relief items will be assembled and packed on March 31 at 2 p.m. (Word was received after the meeting that the shipment will not be held on April 5, but packing will still be on March 31.)
Diana Wunderlich gave the offering meditation.
The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer, followed by the singing of the table prayer.
Hostesses were Leonita Sanders and Susan Ray.
MLLC News
Lenten service will be held in Carmine at 7 p.m. on March 24 with Pastor John David Nedbalek leading the service.
Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m. Palm Sunday worship with Holy Communion and procession of palms, is at 10 a.m. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. First Holy Communion class begins at 11:15 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean #1 and #2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans are accepted.
It is very helpful to have the recycled items separated. Attendants are available to help unload.
They kindly ask that you please wait to drop off items when they are open.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
