RT-C Education Foundation Fundraiser a Success
The Round Top-Carmine Education Foundation had a very successful fundraiser at the Rifle Hall last weekend. Thanks to catering by the Round Top Rifle Hall Association, 800 plates were served in the drive-thru. Teachers, students, the Foundation board and administrators worked hard together to raise funds, with over 80 items on the silent auction. Though the State of Texas will recapture $1,274,000 of RT-C ISD’s property taxes next year, the necessary budget for the funding of arts, technology and teacher grants was raised, thanks to the community with the “Big Hearts.” If you didn’t get to participate, you can still help at www.rtceducationfoundation.org.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church held the monthly Bible study on Thursday morning Feb. 4 with Pastor John David Nedbalek leading the discussion on “turnaround angels” who act as agents of change for direction in our lives. Discussion of lost items, stubborn notions and our daily needs proved to be very interesting. Have you had an angelic encounter? Are animals more sensitive to spiritual presences than human beings? Angels, the messengers of God, confront us, warn us or simply applaud us for turning around. Next month we will discover and remember the angels who brought comfort to God’s people and to us. Joys Baird served as hostesses with a beautiful array of valentine desserts.
Happy birthday wishes go out to Todd Royer, Ethan Schobel, Michelle Hodde, Ken Mathis - Feb. 14; Kara Wienken - 15; Mary Chevoustie - 16; Marilyn Wagner, Shirley Cmajdalka - 17.
