Round Top Lions Donate to ARTS

The Round Top Lions Club contributed $1,000 to Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) at a recent event sponsored by the art organization.

ARTS in collaboration with the Texas Commission on the Arts provided a storytelling performance by Bernadette Nason at the Round Top Library. Over 50 adults and children were in attendance to see the engaging performance.

Nason’s storytelling is only but one of the many Fine Art Assemblies provided for free by Arts for Rural Texas. ARTS provides art education opportunities to youth in Round Top and throughout Fayette County. ARTS Executive Director, Karen Vernon said, “Without support by individuals and wonderful organizations like the Lions Club, ARTS would not be able to provide the free programs in our county’s communities. As our organization continues to grow, we are hoping to offer more opportunities of greater diversity. It is ARTS’ goal to advance artistic excellence, creativity, and innovation for the benefit of individuals and communities. As a not-for-profit organization, we put our efforts and funds into providing service. It is the artists who tell the stories of who we are and what we have lived through. They speak of our communities and the lives of those who live here. It is our children that will build the strength in our communities in the future.”

The Lions Club stands strong in supporting this organization and others that strive to serve the communities.
