Ron Knotts Injured after Fall

Ron Knotts recently had an accident and broke his knee cap. His golf cart was in need of repair and he and Pam carried it over to Bastrop to get a stripped hub replaced. While unloading the cart Ron managed to lose his balance as he was dismounting the trailer only to fall on concrete. He landed on his knees and rolled to avoid injury, only to find he had hurt his knee. Upon going to the ER later he was told he had broken his patella. After seeing his orthopedist he was placed in a brace and is now recovering.

Rain

On Tuesday morning in the early morning hours Muldoon got hammered by a strong storm. Two inches of rain fell in a very short time accompanied by strong winds and lots of lighting. Everyone woke up to very wet yards and pastures. There were some trees with some damage along with lots of leaves that were blown off.

The rain has helped keep the grass green as we head into July. Many have been very busy in the hay fields baling. A few may have got caught with some hay on the ground, but it quickly dried out. Others gave it a day for the fields to dry out before cutting and continuing to bale.

Out and About

Nancie and Billy Blair enjoyed a visit from their grandson Kelley Schick over the weekend recently. They enjoyed a brisket that he had smoked for them and then he helped them put in a walkway from the driveway to the house that was much needed.

Jennifer and Clay Rightmer enjoyed a visit from their son Reed Rightmer over the weekend. Reed arrived from Houston for some country time in the fresh air.

Dana and Darrell Kulak took off for Arlington recently to work on upcoming wedding plans for their son Elton Kulak and his future bride Miko Anderson. They helped with making arrangements along with food and drink selections. It was a great visit even with the pressures of the upcoming event.

Martin and Nancy Cherry slipped over to Wimberly for the day to visit with Nancy’s sister and brother in law, LuLu and Steven Musick. The couples enjoyed a day of reminiscing and driving around to see the sights before stopping and having lunch along the Blanco River.

Neighborhood Watch

With summer in full force now is a good time to get to know your neighbors. Give them a call or stop and speak if you see them out and about. Also keep your eyes open for odd vehicles in the area. If you see odd activity or a strange vehicle at your neighbors please give them a call and make sure everything is as it should be. If we work together we can help avoid crime in the area. It is a small community and we all are neighbors. Together we can keep our area safe.
