Renovations Will Bring Sushi, Self-Checkouts, 50 New Jobs to LG HEB
Expansion by 5,000 Square Feet to Be Completed by Next Summer
H-E-B says the remodel of its La Grange store should be complete by the summer of next year.
The renovation includes an addition of over 5,000 square feet with expanded departments, greater product selection and convenient services.
Store Manager Donnie Lowes, who was raised in La Grange, played an instrumental role with the design “to provide exactly what the community has needed for some time,” the company said in a press release last Friday.
“Everything you would expect from a ‘big city’ H-E-B and specifically designed for our community,” Lowes said.
The store’s new features will include the following:
• Full-service pharmacy with drive-thru
• Bakery with handmade breads and H-E-B’s famous instore made, warm tortillas and fried tortilla chips
• Expanded beer and wine selection
• Healthy Living and Beauty departments
• H-E-B Blooms floral department with seasonal bouquets and arrangements
• H-E-B Meal Simple section with fresh, chef-inspired meals prepared in store
• Full-service seafood counter
• Sushiya sushi made instore daily
• Larger grocery, dairy and frozen foods sections
• Texas Backyard with grilling accessories and plants
• More checkout options, including ample self-checkout area
“The newly configured store will offer many of the same quality products and convenient services available to our loyal La Grange customers, including Curbside, which is currently available,” the company said in a press release last week.
La Grange H-E-B will hire an additional 50 positions to support the expansion and remodel, the company said.
Employment opportunities are posted at careers.heb.com.
“H-E-B has served the La Grange community for nearly 50 years. H-E-B remains deeply committed to providing our La Grange customers a world-class shopping experience during the remodeling process,” the company said.
