Red Door Campaign Kicks Off February For Those Suffering From Mental Illness

Worldwide, a red door is an invitation. It signifies a place to find rest, safety, and protection. People suffering from mental illness are tired.

Loved ones caring for people suffering from mental illness, are exhausted and feel isolated and scared. Surviving caregivers are lost without their loved one and are experiencing grief in the form of sadness, anger, denial, and fear.

They all need red doors. They all need a place to rest, a place to feel safe and protected, a place to feel welcome and not alone.

The Red Door is hosting the first annual “Red Door Campaign” this February. The Red Door is asking residents to decorate their front doors in red, to show support for those strug-gling with mental illness. The Red Door hopes businesses, classrooms, schools, houses, front gates and apartments will be decorated in red by Feb.12.

Vicki Hudec, the Red Door Fund advisor said, “February is a month known for love and kindness. Let us all be Red Doors and stop the stigma in the process.” For more information on the Red Door visit: www.faycofoundation.com or call (979) 561-6791.
