CDA Meeting
CDA Court Annunciation No. 1962 of La Grange and Plum will be meeting on Monday, Nov. 24 in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Center in La Grange at 6:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted for the Veterans Outreach Project. Members are encouraged to attend and new members are always welcome.
KC BBQ Turkeys
The La Grange Knights of Columbus Council No. 2574 will be taking pre-orders for barbecue turkeys for Thanksgiving. The turkeys are 16-18 lbs. and cost $60. Reserve your order before by calling (979) 968-5117. Pick up is Wednesday, Nov. 26 between 4 to 6 p.m.
There’s more New Life Methodist Church, located at 1215 N. Von Minden St. in La Grange, will have a Christmas Craft Show on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Over 26 booths filled with handcrafted items, jewelry, knitting, wood crafts, painting, primitive arts, and baked goods. Weimar Community Thanksgiving Service
All are invited to the annual Weimar Community Thanksgiving Service being hosted by Weimar United Church, 403 W. Main Street, on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. The service is sponsored by the Weimar Ministerial Alliance of Churches. Refreshments will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Father Chase Goodman of St. Michael’s Catholic Church will be the guest preacher. Other local clergy will be leading in various aspects of the evening service. We come together as people faith united in our confession that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and working together to serve those in need. This is a wonderful opportunity for to give thanks and show gratitude for the many blessings that our Lord has shown us. City Holiday Schedule
La Grange City offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28 in observance of Thanksgiving. The week of Nov. 24-29 is garbage and recycling week. Waste Management will also have a holiday on Thursday. If you normally get your garbage and recycle picked up on Thursday, it will be picked up on Friday. Annual Community Thanksgiving Meal
On Thursday, Nov. 27 Crosspoint Church is hosting the Annual Community Thanksgiving meal. Meals will be prepared for people within the community, including meals for First Responders and staff at local nursing homes. These meals are free to anyone needing a hot meal on Thanksgiving Day. All meals are delivered or carried out on Nov. 27 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Crosspoint Church, located at 1010 N. Von Minden, La Grange. Call today to reserve your plate (940) 468-3920. For the last few years, the Community Thanksgiving Meal has provided 500 meals to local residents.

Round Top Christmas Tour of Homes Round Top Area Historical Society is pleased to hosts its 28th annual Christmas Tour of Homes presented during the Christmas in Round Top event on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 11 a.m-5 p.m. Included are four beautiful custom built designer homes with fabulous features that are unique to this area. In addition are two historical properties, one that houses a new retail French store that will be open all year in Round Top and houses that have never been on the home tours. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased on-line at www.rtahs.com and at Round Top Real Estate during business hours beginning Wednesday, Nov. 26 or the day of the event starting at 10 a.m. at the Historical Society campus at 397 E. An Old Time Christmas in Round Top The ladies of the Do Your Duty Club cordially invite you to “An Old Time Christmas in Round Top” on Dec. 6 at the Round Top Courthouse and Square from 3-6 p.m. with the annual Chamber of Commerce Lighted Christmas Parade to follow at 6:15 p.m. The decorated historic square will be ablaze with activities including live Christmas music provided by the Round Top Christmas Brass Band, Round Top Carmine High School Band and “The Guitar Men,” Mr. John Bone and Mr. Louie Sellers. Delicious homemade stew will be available for free will donation. Refreshments including cookies, hot chocolate and coffee will be served in the historic Round Top Courthouse by the DYD Club. Bring your lawn chairs out and enjoy this annual event that kicks off the Christmas season in beautiful Round Top.
