KC BBQ Turkeys

The La Grange Knights of Columbus Council No. 2574 will be taking pre-orders for barbecue turkeys for Thanksgiving. The turkeys are 16-18 lbs. and cost $60. If possible, please reserve your order before Nov. 19 by calling (979) 968-5117. Pick up is Wednesday, Nov. 26 between 4 to 6 p.m.

The public is invited to attend the Fayette County Republican Women General Meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club, 575 Country Club Drive in La Grange. Check-in begins at 10:45. Lunch is available for $20. Program speaker will be Nancy White speaking about the Texas electric grid and how large battery storage facilities negatively affect communities. Hermann Sons Life

Hermann Sons Life Round Top-Shelby Lodge will meet on Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Round Top American Legion Hall. Happy Hour at 6 p.m. and meeting at 6:30 p.m. Please make plans to attend. Election of officers will be held. Chili will be furnished and you may bring sides to accompany the chili or desserts. The annual Christmas party will be on Sunday, Dec. 14.

There’s more The La Grange Garden Club will have an adjusted meeting date in November due to Thanksgiving. That date will be Thursday, Nov. 20 at regular meeting time of 11:30 a.m. for social time and 12 noon the program will begin at Randolph Recreation Center in La Grange. With holiday preparations on our minds, the program will focus on creating wreaths using natural elements we can find in our yards, pastures and woods.

Drone Racing Education Day

The Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum located at 311 Baumgarten St. in Schulenburg will host Drone Day on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Drone racing, career exploration, drone games in the factory, museum tours, and food vendors.

Christmas Craft Show

New Life Methodist Church, located at 1215 N. Von Minden St. in La Grange, will have a Christmas Craft Show on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Over 26 booths filled with handcrafted items, jewelry, knitting, wood crafts, painting, primitive arts, and baked goods. Annual Community Thanksgiving Meal Crosspoint Community Church in La Grange is hosting the Annual Community Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, Nov. 27. Meals are pre-ordered by calling (940) 468-3920, select option 1. Pre-ordered meals can be picked up on Nov. 27 from 11:30 a.m. 1 p.m. or delivered. Meals are free for anyone in the community. Bus Trip to Georgetown

Join the Casino Hall Associates for a fun filled trip to Georgetown for their Christmas Stroll leaving Saturday, Dec. 6 from the Casino Hall at 8:30 a.m. and returning at 6 p.m. The Christmas stroll offers entertainment, numerous restaurants, vendors and a parade and many activities all day. Texas Master Naturalists

The Gideon Lincecum Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists is now taking applications for its 2026 training class. The class runs for nine Saturdays and five Monday night Zoom sessions from Jan. 10 through May 16, 2026. It blends classroom learning with hands-on field experiences in topics including Climatology, Herpetology, Botany, Ornithology, Soil Science, Pollinators, Mammalogy, Archaeology, Forest and Prairie Ecology and Citizen Science. This chapter serves Austin, Colorado, Fayette, Lee, and Washington counties, offering a wide array of projects and activities for graduates. Proper Flag Disposal Drop Off Locations The Texas Heroes Museum located at 171 S. Main in La Grange accepts old flags for proper disposal. The drop-off bin is inside the museum which is open 1-4 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. If leaving flags outside the door when the museum is closed, please have them in a plastic bag or a box so that they are not laying on the ground.
