AMEN Food Pantry
Due to the Government shut down, SNAP benefits will not be renewed for many people as of Nov. 1. Starting Nov. 6, AMEN Food Pantry will be open the first and third Thursday’s of the month from 4:30-6 p.m. to accommodate the working individuals who are unable to come on Mondays.
Veterans Program
All Veterans are invited to join La Grange High School and La Grange Middle School to honor all who served on Tuesday, Nov. 11 from 10:3011 a.m. in the high school gym at 820 S. Vail St. in La Grange. Only clear plastic, vinyl, or mesh tote bags will be permitted. For more information, contact La Grange ISD at (979) 968-7000.
Memorial Service
The annual Memorial Service and Mass for Knights of Columbus Chromcik Council No. 2574, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Annunciation No. 1962 and Court Queen of the Holy Rosary No. 2282 will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange. Recitation of the Rosary begins at 6 p.m. Memorial Service and Mass at 6:30 p.m. followed by a supper at the parish center.

For the Record on Page A2 & C3 The La Grange Hermann Sons Lodge 8 will be meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at Sealand at 11 a.m. This will be a combination Thanksgiving and Christmas get together and will also include reorganization and discussions for the future. All members are invited to attend.
American Legion Post/Auxiliary Meeting
The American Legion Post and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive at the Fair Grounds in La Grange. Commander Richard Gray invites the Veterans that have not visited our Post, or any members, you likely will find we are not what you expect. Come join and see for yourself what the Legion is about. The Auxiliary members may pay their 2026 membership dues at this meeting. Some items on the agenda are the Veterans Day Poppy report and the finalizing of the annual Christmas Veterans’ visits. New potential members are always welcome to attend for both the Post and Auxiliary. A light meal will be served, with the regular business meetings to follow.
La Grange Senior Citizen Game Day
The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host GAME DAY on Thursday, Nov. 13 from 9 - 11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Herb Society Meeting
The Pioneer Unit of the Herb Society of America will be meeting Thursday, Nov. 13 to hear Cindy Meredith of the Herb Cottage in Hallettsville speak on Texas Homestead Herbs. The talk will take place at St. John’s UCC at 516 North Colorado St. in Burton at 10 a.m. There will be coffee and snacks beginning at 9:30. Everyone is invited to attend. CAST For Kids
A fishing event for children with special needs will be held Saturday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Camp Journey in the woods, 5321 TX-36 in Bellville. The B Haus nursery will host an organizational meeting to establish a new chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas on Saturday, Nov. 15, 382 FM 2672 (High Hill Road) in Schulenburg. Bingo For Seniors in Ledbetter
Bingo for Seniors 60 and older plus guests will be held at the Ledbetter Community Center on Sunday, Nov. 16 from 2 - 4 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. $5/card covers all games with prizes awarded for each game. Chips, snacks and drinks will be available for a free-will donation.
VFW Post 5254, Auxiliary to Meet If you are a war-time Veteran, have dinner with VFW Post No. 5254 and Auxiliary, and see for yourself what VFW is about. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5254 and its Auxiliary of La Grange will be meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the VFW Post Home at the La Grange Fairgrounds. Christmas Craft Show
New Life Methodist Church, located at 1215 N. Von Minden St. in La Grange, will have a Christmas Craft Show on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Over 26 booths filled with handcrafted items, jewelry, knitting, wood crafts, painting, primitive arts, and baked goods. The Holy Cross Couple’s Club will host their annual fried chicken dinner on Sunday, Nov. 23, at the Holy Cross picnic grounds in Warda. Drive-thru only from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. All plates are $15 each and include fried chicken, buttered potatoes, green beans, and corn. KC BBQ Turkeys
