Community Prayer

Everyone is invited to the monthly Community Prayer Gathering. This is an area wide multi-church sponsored event meeting the first Sunday of each month at Redimidos por Cristo Church located across the street from Tejas Healthcare at 131 S. College St. in La Grange beginning at 5 p.m. Please join to pray for our local community, our nation and our world.

Spacek Reunion

Installation Service

First Presbyterian Church of La Grange invites friends and families to the installation service for new minister, Rev. Gordon Butler. The service will be part of the regular Sunday morning worship service on Oct. 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church, 205 S. Franklin St. in La Grange. There’s more Come “Glow For Jesus” and come a little early to get introduced to the upcoming archery program for 3rd-12th graders. Enjoy trunk or treat, games with prizes, a bounce house and slides, photo booth, free hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy this Saturday, Oct. 25 from 6-8 p.m. at New Life Methodist Church, 1215 N. Von Minden, La Grange. Local first responders will be present for the kids to see emergency equipment up close and get to know some of our brave men and women. Bring the kids and have great fun. Monument Hill Lantern-Led Tours

Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites will offer special theatrical tours this weekend in collaboration with Fayette County Community Theatre. “Memories of Monument Hill” is a lantern-led walking tour of the historic grounds with theatrical scenes inspired by the history of Monument Hill. Polka Music at Worship Service

To commemorate Reformation, St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at Jefferson and Walnut Sts. in La Grange, will feature Polka Music for its Worship Service on Sunday, Oct. 26. Worship begins at 10 a.m. (an hour later than normal), with a special meal to follow. Brats and sauerkraut will be part of the catered meal, along with beer (BYOB). All are welcome to help celebrate German heritage in worship/music and food/drink.

Bethlehem Lutheran-Round Top

Enjoy an afternoon of outdoor gospel music by the amazing group, D’Vine Testament, under the beautiful shade trees on the grounds of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top at 412 S. White St. on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 2-6 p.m. Various flavors of homemade ice cream will be served at the break, mid-afternoon. Bring your favorite dessert to serve with the ice cream and just sit back and enjoy the music in the great outdoors. Event will be moved inside the Educational Building in case of inclement weather.

CDA No. 1962 Meeting

CDA Court Annunciation No. 1962 of La Grange and Plum will be meeting on Monday, Oct. 27 in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Center in La Grange at 6:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted for the “Christmas at Sea” program for Seafarers (shampoos, body wash, lotions, shoeboxes, snack items and other assorted toiletries). Members are encouraged to attend and new members are always welcome.

Winedale Zoom Talk

Rebecca Elder, conservator and owner of Rebecca Elder Cultural Heritage Preservation, will introduce the attendees of this zoom talk to the basics of collections care for family collections stored in a home environment. She will discuss why materials deteriorate, proper storage environments and supplies and give some tips on how to handle your objects safely. This zoom talk will be on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at noon. KJT Fajita Drive-Thru & Bake Sale 

The Catholic Union of Texas, KJT Society No. 46 La Grange, is hosting their annual drive-thru only chicken fajita dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 4:30-6 p.m. at the La Grange KC Center. Advanced tickets sold at the KJT Home Office, 214 E. Colorado St., La Grange, or call (979) 968-5877. Limited tickets are available at the drive-thru. Tickets are $14 each and 50% of the net proceeds will be donated to the AMEN Food Pantry of La Grange. Bake sale proceeds will also be donated to the AMEN Food Pantry of La Grange with a matching grant from the KJT Home Office.

Photo-Art Exhibition by Diane Mueller at Live Oak Art Center in Columbus is Thursday, Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m. Diane is a nationally-recognized La Grange photographer, wildlife, nature, landscapes, portraits of people and more with artistic touch to help you see the world differently.

LHS Class of 1958 Reunion

The La Grange High School class of 1958 is planning their 67th reunion on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 11:30 a.m. at Sealand Restaurant in La Grange. No reservation is required.

Quade-Werchan Meeting

The next meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary will take place on Nov. 6 Thursday at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Turkey & Dressing in Fayetteville 

A drive-thru only turkey and dressing meal with all the trimmings catered by Peters Barbecue will be available Thursday, Nov. 6 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the SPJST Hall in Fayetteville. Plates are $15. Tickets are available at Cadence Bank-Fayetteville Branch, Orsak’s Café, Fayetteville Store, Joe’s Place, Peters Barbecue (Ellinger), and Cadence Bank-Industry or call (979) 966-3515.

All Veterans Breakfast

Shelby American Legion Post 602 invites all Veterans and the public to their annual Veterans Breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 7:30-9 a.m. The meal will include bacons, eggs, biscuit and gravy for a free will donation. The meal will be held at the Post Headquarters at 4019 FM 1457 in Shelby.

LG Bluebonnet Lions Cheeseballs Sale 

The La Grange Bluebonnet Lions Club will be selling their famous cheeseballs on Saturday, Nov. 15.
