Soup-Noodle-Bake Sale will be on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022. Pick up at Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish Hall in Hostyn between 9 and 11 a.m. or at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Plum from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Quart of chicken noodle soup $6.50, ½ lb. bag of noodles (narrow or wide) $6.50, chicken salad sandwiches $2, chicken salad $4. Hospice Brazos Valley will host a Alzheimer’s or Dementia Support Group and will meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 10 until 11 a.m. Hospice Brazos Valley is located at 1048 N. Loss of a Child
A support and education group for a parent or grandparent who is grieving the loss of a child at any age or any stage of the grieving process will be held the fourth Tuesday of each month from 10 until 11:30 a.m. at Hospice Brazos Valley located at 1048 N. Feed the Need
Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at 901 Mode Ln. Everyone is welcome.
Second Chance Hours
The Second Chance Emporium sales store and the donations drop-off area will be closed on Friday, Dec. 31 through Saturday, Jan. 1.
Texas Heroes Museum Holiday Hours
The Texas Heroes Museum will be closed for the holidays on Saturday, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Please give a special thanks to active duty personnel who are currently deployed overseas. There is no time more depressing to be away from your family than Christmas.
Christmas Tree Recycling
The City of La Grange will have a drop off point for Christmas trees next to the dumpsters at 805 Mode Ln. for any residential customer starting Jan. 3 through Jan. 7, 2022. For anyone unable to drop their tree off, the City will pick up Christmas trees from residences according to the following schedule: Jan. 10 Monday, South side of the City (Travis Street-Hwy. 71 Bus) Jan. 11 Tuesday, North side of the City. Please remove all tinsel, lights, decorations, tree stands, nails, and plastic bags from the trees and place them at the curb. Trees should be set at curbside by your scheduled day. Parkinson’s Support Group
For anyone struggling with this movement disorder the group has reactivated in La Grange the third Thursday of every month. For patients and caregivers. The meetings begin at 10 a.m. at the Randolph Recreation Center 653 E. Pearl St. We will not meet in December but will be having our meeting in January 2021 at this new location. Holiday Garbage Schedule
La Grange City offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 3 in observance of New Year’s Day. Waste Management will not have a holiday. Residential and commercial garbage service on normal schedule.
Turtle Wing Interactive Workshop
Turtle Wing Foundation has partnered with the Fayette County Community Theatre for their Interactive Workshop focusing on social skills and the life skill of public speaking and self advocacy. This is an interactive workshop to provide a fun environment for Turtle Wing families to gather and learn on Jan. 4 and Jan. 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Turtle Wing Participants will even have the option to show what they learned at the annual Toast on Jan. 27. Hermann Sons Life Meeting
The Hermann Sons Life Rutersville regular meeting night will be Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Lodge Hall. The lodge will furnish soup and members are asked to bring a side or dessert.
