High School Softball Umpires Needed
The Tri-County Softball Umpire Association will hold it first meeting for the upcoming 2022 High School Softball Season in Hallettsville. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dec.15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hallettsville ISD boardroom. Anyone interested in umpiring is strongly encouraged to attend to plan for the new season. Friends of Bluebonnet Opry
The Friends of the Bluebonnet Opry will be held Thursday, Dec. 16 at the Silver Wings Ballroom in Brenham. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 and the grill is open for great food. This month will feature David Lewis from Bellville and Briana Adams from Winchester. Parkinson’s Support Group
Anyone struggling with Parkinson’s, the Parkinson’s Support Group is reactivated in La Grange the third Thursday of every month for patients and caregivers. Vietnam Veterans Meeting
Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 will meet on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Ammannsville KJT Hall located in Ammannsville. Members and prospective members are encouraged to attend the annual Christmas dinner and recognition of our charter members. The social hour will start at 6 p.m. with dinner and meeting at 7 p.m. at the KJT Hall in Ammannsville. All members and their spouse or significant are invited.
Collecting Needed Items For CASA
The Round Top Hermann Sons Life Lodge No. 151 is again collecting needed items for children under the care of CASA in Fayette, Lee and Bastrop counties. Members and friends are asked to donate any items that may be needed or used by children ages birth to 18 years. Items may include clothing, diapers and layette items, personal care items, accessories and outer wear including cold weather clothing items. Gift cards are also welcome. As before, items may be brought to the Christmas party on Dec. 12 or dropped off at the Round Top Real Estate office in Round Top, who is again a partner in this effort. Ice Skating In The Park
Ice Skating in the Park will take place on Friday, Dec. 17 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 18 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at White Rock Park on Mode Lane. If bad weather is forecasted, the event will move to the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 E. Pearl St. The fee to skate will be $5 per skater for a 25 minute session, with sessions being scheduled on the half and hour time slots. You may purchase tickets for skate times on a ‘day-of’ basis Friday for Friday; Saturday for Saturday; and Sunday for Sunday and tickets are limited to 10 per person purchase. Families, especially the kiddos can enjoy skating, crafts, cookie decorating, games, concession and food goods, and other activities while visiting the event, plus Santa will be at the event from 5 to 8 p.m. daily. There will be music and a DJ in the evenings, so bring out some dancing shoes to dance under the stars.
