Fayette Co. Fair
The Fayette County Fair is coming up Labor Day weekend for a four day event packed full of fun for the whole family. Entertainment and activities include: live music, carnival, parade, fun run, barbecue cookoff, and so much more. Musical entertainment includes: Josh Ward, Joe Nichols, Doc West, Southbound 955, and others. This is a musical line-up that will be sure to keep you entertained all weekend. Hermann Sons Life
Hermann Sons Life Rutersville’s monthly meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. The lodge will furnish fried fish and members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert.
Mobile Food Pantry in Fayetteville
The Central Texas Food Truck will be at St. John’s in Fayetteville on Thursday, Sept. 2 from 10 to 11 a.m. This will be a drive-thru distribution with recipients remaining in their vehicle.
Schmeckenfest Mini Stein
Pre-order your Schmeckenfest Mini Stein today. Order before Sept. 2 to get the Stein for only $10. All stein purchases after Sept. 2 will be $12. steins can be pre-ordered online or in person at the Historic Casino Hall located at 254 N. Jefferson St.
Car Wash & Bake Sale
A car wash and bake sale will be held on Friday, Sept. 3 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the O’Reilly’s parking lot in La Grange. This is benefiting the Tonia Hamilton Little Memorial Scholarships.
Muldoon Museum
The Muldoon Museum will be open Saturday, Sept. 4 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Ellinger Walkers Bake Sale
The Ellinger Walkers will be having a bake sale at Hruska’s on Saturday, Sept. 4 beginning at 7 a.m. until sold out for Relay for Life.
Fayetteville’s Annual Church Feast
The Fayetteville St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will hold their annual picnic on Sunday, Sept. 5 at St. John’s Recreation Hall in Fayetteville. A Mass with polka music under the pavilion will be held at 9 a.m. with local musicians taking part in the Mass. There will be a barbecue beef, pork, and sausage dinner available and a drive thru line at 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Larry Sodek and area musicians will provide live music under the pavilion during the meal. Barbecue burgers and sausage wraps will be sold beginning at 1:30 p.m. A country auction including quilts, antiques, coins, etc. will be held at 1:30 p.m. There will be bingo at 2 p.m. and kolaches and other pastries will be available throughout the day. Some attractions include children’s games, silent auction, cake wheel, and ice-cold refreshments. Fayetteville is right in the middle of the Central Texas South golden triangle areas and is conveniently located between Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. St. John’s Recreation Hall is located on 301 Bell Street in Fayetteville.
Holy Cross Church Picnic
Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda will host their annual Picnic on Sunday, Sept. 5 at the church picnic grounds. Get barbecue pork by the pound and whole chickens from the pits starting at 9:30 a.m. Sides and desserts will be available from the Ladies Aid country store. Hamburgers will be available starting at 4 p.m. The annual live auction will start at 5 p.m. To preorder sides (noodles, cole slaw, potato salad, pinto beans) call (979) 242-3333.
St. Mary Catholic Church Parish Picnic
The St. Mary Catholic Church Parish Picnic will be held Sunday, Sept. 5 at High Hill. The flag raising ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. and Polka Mass at 10 a.m. A fried chicken and stew dinner begins at 11 a.m. Adult plates are $10 and children plates are $5. Drive-thru plates only. Take in the country store, duck pond, ring toss, train ride, and washer pitching at 1 p.m. Music during the day by Texas Sound Czech and Mark Halata/Texavia and a free dance at night by Texas Dream. A spectacular fireworks show is at 10 p.m.
City of LG Waste Schedule
City of La Grange offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 6 for the Labor Day holiday. Waste Management garbage and recycle service will be on their regular schedule for the week of the Labor Day holiday. The week of Sept. 6 is a recycling week for residential customers. Commercial dumpster service will be on regular schedule, also.
Food Pantry Holiday Hours
AMEN Food Pantry will be closed Monday, Sept. 6 and will be open Tuesday Sept. 7 from 9 a.m. until noon for food distribution.
La Grange Uncorked
Filled with fun, food, and wine - La Grange Uncorked is an absolute bucket list must. With over 15 wineries and plenty of tasty treats on the square Sept. 18, from 3-7 p.m., it’s worth the trip. Uncorked ticket holders will have the opportunity to sample wines from all participating wineries in addition to purchasing wine by the glass or by the bottle. There will also be a prize drawing for those who sample from each winery and return their punched tickets to the registration tent on the Fayette County Courthouse square. So grab a friend and get ready to sip and shop while you stroll through downtown La Grange. The Josh Tiemann Band will be joining Uncorked to play his blend of Texas music by the registration tent.
