American Legion

The next monthly meeting for American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 is scheduled for Thursday, July 1. This will be a regular meeting of the post and auxiliary beginning at 7:30 p.m. Prior to the meeting a catered meal to honor the establishment of Post No. 338 in 1921 will be held.

Muldoon Museum

The Muldoon Museum will be open Sunday, July 4 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Praise Band

This Sunday, July 4, the Praise Band will return to St. Paul Lutheran Church at the 9 a.m. service. The church is located at 110 W. Walnut Street in La Grange. Please join to welcome them back and bring a friend. Everyone is welcome.

City Schedule

City of La Grange offices will be closed on Monday, July 5 in observance of Independence Day. Waste Management’s residential and commercial garbage service run their normal schedule the week of the July 4 holiday. Please put your garbage cart out on your regular pick-up day to be serviced.

LGISD Holiday Hours

The La Grange ISD Administration Office will be closed July 5-9. The office will reopen on July 12.

Hermann Sons Life Meeting

Hermann Sons Life Rutersville No. 152 will meet on Wednesday, July 7 for their regular meeting at 7 p.m. The meal is pot luck and members are asked to bring a main dish and a side or dessert.

LG Hermann Sons Lodge Meeting

The La Grange Hermann Sons Lodge No. 8 will have its quarterly meeting on Thursday, July 8 at the Riverside Cafe meeting room at 11 a.m. All members are invited to attend.

LG Chamber BBQ Chicken

A drive-thru barbecue chicken meal for the La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce will be held Thursday, July 8 at the KC Hall, 190 S. Brown Street in La Grange. The meal includes a half barbeue chicken, pinto beans, coleslaw and noodles for $10 a plate. Blood Drive at the Historic Casino Hall

The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is hosting a blood drive at the Historic Casino Hall on Thursday, July 8. Give blood and get a beach towel as a free gift for your commitment to your community. Democratic Party Meeting

The Fayette County Democratic Party’s monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, July 8 at 6 p.m. Jan Dockery, Mayor of La Grange, will be the guest speaker. Send an email request to davidmccallchair@gmail.com to obtain the Zoom link to the meeting.

Movies At Henkel Square

The Round Top Lions Club is offering free summer movies for all beginning Friday, July 9 and every Friday night through Aug. 13 showing blockbuster, family-friendly, and classic movies on the big outdoor screen on Henkel Square in Round Top. Bring your lawn chairs, and a blanket. Popcorn and fun will be supplied. The lineup icnludes: July 9: My Spy, Rated PG-13; July 16: Casablanca, Rated PG; July 23: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Rated PG-13; July 30: Coming 2 America, Rated PG-13; Aug. 6: Breakfast At Tiffany’s, Rated G; Aug. 13: Captain Marvel, Rated PG-13. Kappler/Groeschel/Berger/Wukasch Reunion

All relatives and descendants of Andreas Kappler, Agnes Groeschel Kappler, John Ernst Berger, and Anna Wukasch Berger are invited to attend a family reunion at the Holy Cross Church Hall on Saturday, July 10 beginning at 10 a.m. A meal will be served at 12:30 p.m. Please bring enough food for your family. Paper goods, tea, and coffee will be provided by the reunion. Bring your own soft drinks and beer. Donation for beer provided will be taken. There is a playground for the children. BFF Ladies Workshop

“BFF, Books, Faith, Friends” is hosting a ladies workshop on, “Twelve Extraordinary Women” from the Bible by John MacArthur, on Saturday, July 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church located at 1516 N.
