Music Celebration

In honor of the completed pipe organ rebuild project St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fayetteville will have a musical showcase on Sunday, June 27 from 1-2 p.m. at the church located at 201 N. Rusk. Several musicians will showcase their talent and style with patriotic sing alongs. Light refreshments will be served with a free will donation to the pipe organ fund.

American Legion

The catered meal to honor the establishment of Post No. 338 in 1921, has been rescheduled to July 1. All members who wish to attend the July meeting should respond to the Post Commander Lynn Reavis to confirm their participation and to reserve a meal for themselves and their spouse. Members of the Post’s Ladies Auxiliary should confirm their attendance with President Lou Anne Williams.

St. John VBS

St. John Catholic Church in Fayetteville will have Vacation Bible School July 19-23 from 6 until 8:30 p.m. Forms are available at the entrance of the church. Return the completed form by June 30 since this is a limited enrollment. You can also register online at www.stjohnfayetteville. com. Vacation Bible School At FUMC

Summer registration is open for VBS at First United Methodist Church on Monday, July 26 through Friday, July 30 from 5 to 7:45 p.m. There is no cost. Register at lgfumc.org and click on Wacky World of Water.

Czech Family Day

The Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center located at 250 West Fairgrounds Road will have a full day of connecting with your heritage on Saturday, June 26 beginning at 8 a.m. with events throughout the day. Bingo In Ellinger

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce is hosting bingo on Saturday, June 26 at the Ellinger C of C Hall. Doors open at 4:30 and games start at 6 p.m. Hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, desserts and refreshments will be available. Regular games, 15 bingo games, $1,500 in prizes.

Community Theatre Auditions

Come out to audition for the next Fayette County Community Theatre student production of Jungle Book. Auditions will be held Sunday, June 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. and/or Monday, June 28 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Historic Casino Hall, 254 N. Jefferson St. La Grange.

First Baptist Church Sports Camp

Register for Sports Camp at First Baptist Church located at 5000 West State Hwy. 71 in La Grange to be held June 27 through July1 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. each evening. Sports Camp is a free event for children who have completed 1st-6th grade and kiddos will enjoy action-packed sports training sessions mixed with fun rallies. The sports offered are flag football, cheerleading, soccer, and basketball. A meal will also be served each night to make sure your child has the energy they need to excel during their sports sessions. Food Truck

The Central Texas Food Bank mobile food truck will be at St. John in Fayetteville on Thursday, July 1 from 10 to 11 a.m. This is a change of days since the previous distribution was on Friday. It is a drive through distribution following CDC guidelines.

Ellinger Walkers Bake Sale

The Ellinger Walkers will be having a bake sale at Hruska’s on Saturday, July 3 beginning at 7:30 a.m. until sold out for Relay for Life.

Beginner Round Dance Lessons

The La Grange Road Runner Square Dance Club announces beginner round dance lessons. The group will be starting with the “rumba/cha-cha” figures and dance routines. No dancing experience necessary, no partner necessary. Lessons will be taught by Tricia Morley and Dennis Artz and are scheduled every other Tuesday evening starting July 6 at 6 p.m. at the Randolf Recreation Center, located at 653 Pearl St. in La Grange. Six progressive lessons will be $30 per person for all six lessons. The club looks forward to seeing you on Tuesday evening for this fun rhythm.
