Railroad Maintenance Continues In Muldoon
When out and about be sure to watch out for the railroad crews that are working along FM154. They are replacing ties and repairing other issues along the line. There are lots of vehicles and machinery parked along the road as they bring in the crews to do the work.
Celebrates Birthday
It was a big birthday celebration recently for Pam Knotts on Super Bowl Weekend. The original plan was to go to Houston to visit Ron’s ninety-three year old mother and enjoy some favorite restaurant meals. The dining adventure began on Friday with lunch at Texas Road House. An appetizer followed by grilled shrimp set the tone for some of the great meals to come. Sweet tea was to be Pam’s guilty pleasures for the entire weekend. After running some errands on the way into town they found health issues had derailed the visit to Ron’s mom, so hotel check-in followed by plans for dinner. Always a family favorite, Pappasito’s was selected and Ron and Pam split a meal so they had plenty of room for the birthday treat provided by the restaurant, complete with the required Pappasito’s birthday song. Luckily no silly sombrero. Ice cream and strawberries was the perfect dessert on a cold February night. Breatfast the next morning at Embassy Suites was handled with all Covid precautions and included omelets and French toast. A few more Houston errands and it was time to head home, but first a stop for lunch at Babin’s Seafood. This restaurant is one of Pam’s favorites and has been the site of many celebrations. Fried green tomatoes got the meal started followed by stuffed mahi mahi and all the fixings. It was a great birthday weekend filled with lots of special treats. Probably a good thing Pam only has one birthday a year.
Out and About
Lane Rightmer slipped in over the weekend from Waco to spend a little time with her parents, Clay and Jennifer Rightmer. She needed her fix of cows and country life.
Pam Sheffield enjoyed a wonderful quarterly visit from her longtime girlfriends Susi Jones of Burleson and Holly Skinner-Klee of Kingwood. The ladies enjoyed running into town to gather supplies for the girls’ week together. They enjoyed going out to eat Mexican food, games, movies and some fun times just catching up with each other.
Jeremy Wells and his daughter Brianna once again made a trip in to Muldoon from Pflugerville to see Dad/Grandpa Devon Boehnke. Brianna got her Aunt Dana Kulak to play games with her while her dad went out and built fence.
Cold Weather
Muldoon is experiencing some cold weather. Temperatures have been close to freezing at the time of this writing along with some moisture in the air. Predictions are calling for temperatures to drop even more and to turn some the moisture into wintery precipitation, including the possibility of snow for yet again this winter. Those in the area with animals have been preparing for this oncoming bad weather.
