Porras Named New Admin of Care Inn in La Grange

Mr. Dave Garner, with Summit LTC Management has announced Peter O. Porras as the new Administrator of Care Inn of La Grange.

Peter and his wife of 35 years, Janet Dolton Porras, look forward to meeting residents and families at Care Inn as well as making their home here in La Grange.

Janet’s father, Pastor Del Dolton, was a Lutheran minister for over 40 years and served his last parish in Yoakum for 26 years before he and his wife, Rose, retired to Brenham to be near Rose’s family including the Brachers, Weisses, Sprains, Kruses and Loefflers.

Janet has many fond memories attending camp Lutherhill in the summers both as a camper and as a counselor. The Sprain and Dolton families continue to enjoy the family ranch located in Wallis.

Peter has spent over 30 years in the healthcare and senior living industry as a healthcare executive. He has achieved national recognition for providing quality healthcare. As an administrator, Peter was the recipient of the “2013 Quality Bronze Award” from the American Healthcare Association/NCAL National Quality Award. In 2004, Peter was bestowed the honor of “Outstanding Alumnus” from his high school.

Peter holds a bachelor of arts from St. Edward’s University and a certificate from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas. He also holds a master of science from University of North Texas. He is a Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Social Worker, Certified Assisted Living Manager, Certified Healthcare Executive, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. He is Board Certified as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Peter’s areas of specialization have included Skilled Nursing, Sub-Acute, Medical Specialty Centers, LTAC (Long Term Acute Care) Hospitals, Geriatric/Senior Clinics, CCRC (Continuing Care Retirement Communities), Dementia/Alzheimer’s Communities, Adult Day Care Services, a HUD 202/8 Housing For Aged and Disabled, and Sports Exercise Training.

Peter looks forward to meeting families and friends of all the residents at Care Inn as he seeks to ensure that each resident receives the highest quality of care and service that each one deserves. He feels privileged to serve the needs of each resident and looks forward to becoming part of the La Grange community.
