Police Respond to Forgery Incident; Father Assaulted by Son
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of March 21-28.
Forgery
On March 23, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of E. Colorado where caller stated that a subject was attempting to cash a forged check at the location. Owner of the checks was at the location and was stating they were forged. Officer detained juvenile subject and processed her for the crime.
Bodily Injury
On March 27, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of N. Monroe where caller stated that his son assaulted him. Officer went to the location and made contact with the complainant. Officer received statements from the complainant and witnesses. Subject had fled the location and could not be located.
Assault By Threat
On March 23, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 600 block of N. Jefferson in regard to threats.
Alarm
On March 22, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 200 block of N. Main in regard to an alarm. Officer arrived on location and spoke with an employee who stated they had entered the wrong code.
On March 22, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 200 block of S. Madison in regard to caller stating that a residential alarm was going off. Officer checked the residence but found that it was secure with no sign of forced entry. Officer knocked on door and received no answer.
On March 25, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to an alarm at Two St. Mark’s Place. Building was secure and workers were present.
On March 25, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call in regard to an alarm in the 100 block of E. Travis. Balloons were in the showroom, which could be setting off the motion sensors.
Agency Assist
On March 27, Meinardus responded to One St. Mark’s Place where caller requested assistance with a patient that was combative. Officer arrived on location and the subject remained calm until he was discharged from the hospital.
Accident
On March 23, Wostarek was dispatched to the 800 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a traffic accident. Officer took information for report.
On March 23, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of E. Travis for a minor accident with no injuries. Officer gathered information and will complete an accident report.
Animal Complaint
On March 21, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Washington for dogs in a back yard attacking another dog. Officer arrived and was able to find dogs owner. Injured animal was taken to the vet clinic. All dogs were from the same residence and no dogs were loose.
On March 22, Animal Control Officer Dean Ahlschlager checked on a dog in the 800 block of S. Franklin and the dog had food and water.
On March 23, Ahlschlager responded to the 700 block of E. Fannin and put dogs back in yard and owner will keep dogs in yard.
On March 25, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call for a loose cow in the 1200 block of N. Von Minden. Upon arrival the owner had already placed the cow back into the pasture. Officer cleared the call.
Counterfeit Money
On March 25, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Travis for counterfeit money. Officer took information.
Civil Matter
On March 21, Zwahr spoke with a subject in regard to a civil matter in the 500 block of E. Guadalupe.
On March 27, Wostarek spoke with caller in the 300 block of E. Live Oak on a civil matter.
Citizen Assist
On March 23, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Jefferson in regard to a citizen assist
Criminal Mischief
On March 22, Wostarek was dispatched to the 600 block of E. Pearl in regard to criminal mischief.
On March 23, Patrolman Justin Koehne met with complainant in the 200 block of N. Horton for a criminal mischief report.
Disturbance
On March 23, Maxwell was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a possible disturbance.
On March 27, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Madison in regard to a disturbance.
Driving While Intoxicated
On March 26, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1700 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass in regard to a subject that was possibly intoxicated.
Family Disturbance
On March 23, Meinardus responded to the 500 block of E. Fannin where caller stated that her cousin and her were having a verbal dispute and her cousin was refusing to leave. Officer went to location and the subject left the location after gathering his belongings.
Found Property
On March 26, Wostarek was dispatched to the 700 block of W. Colorado in regard to found property.
Lost Item
On March 24, Zwahr retrieved a lost item from a business in the 2400 block of W. State Highway 721 Business.
Loitering
On March 23, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1700 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass in regard to a subject that was loitering.
Public Intoxication
On March 26, Maxwell was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Travis in regard to an intoxicated subject. The subject was arrested.
Reckless Driving
On March 21, Anderson spoke with complainant in regard to a reckless driver in the area of S. Jackson and E Pecan.
On March 22, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1900 block of Highway 159 in regard to reckless driving.
On March 26, Meinardus responded to the 1800 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass where caller stated that there was a white SUV in the drive through that was being reckless and the driver was possibly intoxicated. Officer checked the vehicle and found the driver was a juvenile who was not intoxicated. Officer issued the driver a citation for not having a driver’s license and the subject contacted his father who came and picked him and the vehicle up.
On March 27, Wostarek received a call in regard to speeding vehicles in the 800 block of N. Horton.
Suspicious Person
On March 24, Currington was dispatched to the 1400 block of W. State Highway 71 Business for a suspicious person. Person was gone upon officer’s arrival.
On March 24, Anderson responded to the 200 block of W. Travis for a suspicious person at location.
On March 25, Zwahr responded to the 100 block of N. Monroe for a suspicious person in the area. Officer could not locate anyone.
Theft
On March 22, Wostarek spoke with a caller in regard to items that were taken from a residence in the 500 block of E. Guadalupe.
On March 25, Anderson received a call to contact a complainant in the 1600 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in regard to a theft that had occurred earlier.
Trespassing
On March 22, Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Guadalupe in regard to a subject that was trespassing. Officer arrived and subject had left.
On March 27, Maxwell was dispatched to the 800 block of Roitsch in regard to a subject trespassing.
Welfare Check
On March 24, Anderson received a call in regard to a welfare concern in the 500 block of E. Travis.
On March 25, Currington checked on a homeless subject in the 600 block of E Travis. Subject was ok.
Miscellaneous
On March 21, Anderson received a call from the 600 block of N. Rosenberg in regard to the location of a reported juvenile.
On March 25, Anderson conducted a foot patrol of the town square and checked businesses to make sure they were secure.
