On Pointe Studio and Events Win at the National Competition of Dance Showcase USA

Students from On Pointe Studio and Events in Schulenburg traveled to Dallas/Fort Worth the week of June 22nd-28th to perform their 18 dances at the National Competition Dance Showcase USA.

On Pointe competed with 43 studios from Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma. It was not only memorable, but also a successful week for On Pointe. On Pointe won multiple Pinnacle Awards for the highest scoring dances and also a Choreography Award, and a Judges Choice Award.

All the groups from On Pointe were invited to perform at the Grand Showcase USA.

In the beginning of the week, soloists took the stage:

Soloists:

Audrie Jasek (Schulenburg)- 1st ballet category for age 11, 20th overall National Winner Audrey Pietsch (La Grange)- 1st ballet category for age 11, 14th overall National Winner Madelyn Babb (Shiner)2nd ballet category for age 12, 6th overall National Winner Cate Hooper (Schulenburg)- 1st contemporary ballet category for age 12, 5th overall National Winner and 1st at Grand Showcase USA.

Stassney Ahrens (Schulenburg)- 1st ballet category, 1st ballet/contemporary category, age 13-14, 3rd overall National Winner in contemporary/ ballet with another overall in ballet and 5th at Grand Showcase USA with contemporary/ ballet.

Lillian Skinner (La Grange)- 1st ballet category for age 7-8, 1st Overall National Winner and 1st at Grand Showcase USA.

Blayke Bacak (Sweet Home)- 2nd ballet category for age 7-8, 8th overall National Winner

Mia Westfall (Weimar)1st ballet category for age 1516, 7th overall National Winner

Sophia Mick (Weimar)1st ballet category for age 17-19, 1st overall National Winner and 4th at Grand Showcase USA.

Groups:

Mini Elite Group- age 5-6 (Blayre Bacak, Penelope Machac, Kate Muras, June Schiffli, Ella Skinner, Gwen Skinner, Hannah Smith, John Truchard, Juniper Yi) - 1st in ballet category, 1st in tap category; 4th overall National Winners in tap, 3rd overall National Winners in ballet. 2nd place at Grand Showcase USA with ballet.

Petite Elite Group- age 7-8 (Blayke Bacak, Sara-May Barnett, Isla Black, Sparrow Hernandez, Stevi Kadlecek, Bettye Langhoff, Elyse Muras, Lillian Skinner, Virginia Smith, Bailey Tousek, Kayelynn Truchard) - 1st in ballet category, 1st in tap category; 2nd overall National Winners in ballet, 1st overall National Winners in tap. 1st place at Grand Showcase USA with tap.

Junior Elite Group- age 9-10 (Sara-May Barnett, Audrie Jasek, Madison Patlovany, Audrey Pietsch, Payton Poli, Lane Schiffli, Olivia Thompson) - 1st in ballet category, 1st in tap category; 3rd overall National Winners in tap, 1st overall National Winners in ballet. 1st place at Grand Showcase USA with ballet.

Teen Elite Group- age 1314 (StassneyAhrens, Madelyn Babb, Quinn DeLaRosa, Cate Hooper, Kamryn Kelly, Sophia Mick, Mia Westfall) - 1st in ballet category, 1st in tap category; 3rd overall National Winners in ballet, 5th overall National Winners in tap. 1st place at Grand Showcase USA with ballet.

On Pointe Owner and Artistic Director Nina Gorman says, “I’m so proud of all the amazing achievements our students have accomplished. We are grateful for the hard work, not only put in by the students, but also their parents! I could not do it alone. My wonderful Elite instructors Caitlin Koliba and Kamryn Kelly were a big part of this successful experience. Thank you, Dance Showcase USA, for this opportunity and such a memorable experience.”

On Pointe is in its 8th year in business and has been a competitive studio for 7 years. On Pointe is proud to offer not only competitive elite programs for ages 5-18, but also recreational programs for ages 2-18, adult fitness classes, and Taekwondo.
