64 Transfer Kids Coming Into LGISD

Superintendent Andy McHazlett told the school board Monday there are a total of 64 students who were approved for transfer into the district for the 2026-27 school year. Of that number, 58 are returning students and 6 are new. There are 30 transfer students at the elementary campus, 14 at the middle school, and 20 at the high school.

Of those students, 28 are children of employees of the district.

The transfers come from the following districts: Bastrop, Columbus, Fayetteville, Flatonia, Giddings, Hallettsville, Rice, Round Top-Carmine, Schulenburg, Smithville, Snook, and Weimar.

The district has a maximum number of 85 transfers allowed.
