Planning Begins for Christmas in Muldoon
The holidays are fast approaching with Thanksgiving right around the corner. This means that the Christmas season is not far away. Muldoon is preparing for that festive season with the annual Christmas in Muldoon. This is a slow paced celebration with lots of visiting with friends and family.
The Muldoon Museum will be open for the everyone to see all the great items on display, enjoy some cookies, coffee and visit with Mrs. Claus. The Muldoon Mercantile will be open for the perusing with goodies. The fire department will be open. The Muldoon Community Center will be hosting a little Christmas market from noon to 6 p.m. They also will be hosting Santa Claus for the day. Bring the kids out for pictures and to let Santa know what they want.
There will be a tree lighting and singing at the Community Center just behind the park starting at 5:30 p.m. that evening. Any vendors interested in setting up for the day please contact Sherri at (979) 702-1076 or Karen at (281) 682-5625.
The fire department will have their annual Christmas party with a meal at 6:30 p.m. and everyone is invited. Come and bring a side dish or dessert to share.
Part of getting in the holiday is the giving spirit. With this in mind there will be a number of places to drop off donations for local charities. More details will be coming in the next few weeks, so start gearing up for some old fashioned fun for Christmas season.
Out and About
Nada and Ted Burns enjoyed a weekend visit from their son and daughter in law, Ryan and Meghan Burns of Waxahachie. Ryan and Meghan also brought with them their kids Maddie, Livie, Luke and Chase to enjoy their grandparents and some country fun. Ryan helped his dad with some lights around the house while the kids had fun with playing outside and doing all kinds of country fun things.
Ron and Pam Knotts enjoyed an evening out by attending a concert recently at the HEB Center in Cedar Park. The concert was for the 50th anniversary of the country group Alabama. The first act of the night was Frontmen of Country Music. The group is made up of three 90s country legends; Richie McDonald of Lonestar, Larry Stewart of Restless Heart, and Tim Rushlow of Little Texas. The crowd was comprised of mostly older folks who knew all the words to all the songs. When Alabama took the stage they sang all their classics with a full two hour concert. The band was amazing with a great keyboard, drummer and fiddle player. The HEB Center was a great venue and Ron and Pam are checking for other concert opportunities for next year.
Work Continues
Work on the both the railroad and the highline continue in the area. Please be on the alert for the workers who are out and about in the area.
Neighborhood Watch
As the holidays approach be sure to check on your neighbors and make sure all is good. Keep your eyes open for any suspicious activity in the area. We all need to watch out and take care of each other. This is a small community and it takes everyone to keep it safe.
