Picking Park this Saturday in Fayetteville; St. Mary Church Donates to Camp Hope
A talented group of bluegrass musicians are picking and singing at Picking Park on the square this Saturday. They get together the second Saturday of each month from January-November. The music flows from 2 p.m. until everyone’s ready to quit.
St. Mary Donation
Thanks to the community support at theirAnnual Bazaar, St. Mary Catholic Church presented a $6,500 donation to Camp Hope, helping those who suffer from PTSD. Ten percent of the proceeds were split between Camp Hope and the Brenham Pregnancy Center. They are looking forward to seeing everyone at next year’s bazaar.
City of Fayetteville
The City of Fayetteville has added a key player to its roster. As a new contract hire, Nevaeh Mueller will perform general tasks.
Offices for the City of Fayetteville, the post office and Cadence Bank will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 11 in recognition of Veterans Day.
TxDOT is back to continue road repairs.
Christmas Tree Display With the holidays soon upon us, the busy team behind the 7th Annual Fayetteville Christmas Tree Display & Contest in the Old Fire Station on the square is about to make spirits bright, calling all creatives to enter this lively competition. Individuals, families and businesses are all welcome to apply.
Applications can be found on their Facebook page and at local stores and restaurants. Decorating kicks off on Wednesday, Nov. 12 and ends on Wednesday, Nov. 26. The full-out spectacle will be ready for viewing the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
Festivities include:
• Sip and Stroll: A ladies’ wine night on Friday, Dec. 12 (the last day to vote for your favorite trees and wreaths)
• Santa and Mrs. Claus dropping in every Friday and Saturday until Christmas Eve

Don’t miss “Behind the Curtain” at Hugo’s 1876 in the Grand Fayette Hotel this Saturday at 6 p.m. Enjoy a special menu, live music and a silent auction featuring Hollywood memorabilia donated by Emmy and Academy Awardwinning Make-up Artist Matthew W. Mungle.
All donations for the event will support underfunded high school theater productions. Mungle worked with high school student Hannah Barley (granddaughter of George and Kathy Valtasaros and former ARTS camp counselor for three summers) in her drama program at Lago Vista.

Out at Lake Fayette, winter hours are now in place: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. The gate will still be open at 5 a.m. for those wanting to fish. Entry fee can be paid using the fee box until a camp host mans the booth. Mosquitos have checked out for the season so pack a picnic and enjoy the cool weather for a fun fall excursion with a water view.
Fayetteville EDC
The Fayetteville Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 12. All are all welcome to attend. Mobile Food Pantry
The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John on Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. Walk up to the entrance and bring bags or carts for pickup.
St. Paul Lutheran
St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.
St. John the Baptist Catholic St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.
St. Mary Catholic Church St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.
Fayetteville Brethren
Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
