Part of MS 150 Will Start from La Grange

The Texas MS 150 will be a one-day event this year, scheduled to take place on May 1. The annual fundraiser for the fight against multiple sclerosis normally takes place over two days with an overnight stop in La Grange. Organizers are planning several changes to the event this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“MS doesn’t stop because of this crisis, and neither will we,” said a statement from the National MS Society. But we will implement a variety of new protocols in keeping with current guidance on event attendance from the CDC, state, city and other local agencies to keep our participants, volunteers, staff and host communities as safe as possible.”

Riders will not stay overnight in La Grange as they did in the past. The route will also be different. The ride will have four different start locations: three in the Houston area at Katy, Cypress and Waller, and a fourth location in La Grange. All four groups of riders will travel to College Station, with the finish line at the 50 yard line on Texas A&M’s Kyle Field.

All volunteers and staff will be required to wear masks at all times. Riders will not be required to wear masks while riding outdoors. Participants will be asked to practice physical and social distancing, frequently wash their hands, use hand sanitizer, and not participate if they are feeling unwell or showing any signs of illness.
