Pair of Drug Arrests Made Locally on Tuesday

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on April 27, Deputy Seth Nagel conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a lane violation, on Hwy 71 near The Point Store, in West Point. An investigation was conducted and consent to search was granted. Deputy Nagel located approximately three grams of cocaine on the driver, and THC wax, THC oil, and THC gummies in the vehicle. The driver, identified as 34 year old James Pham, of Stafford, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. 3rd degree and 2nd degree felonies.

Later the same night, Deputy AJ Gonzales conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on I-10 near the 661 mile marker for defective equipment. Deputy Gonzales detected the odor of marijuana emitting from inside of the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle and a felony amount of marijuana was located in the car. Deputy Gonzales further seized $2,965. The driver, identified as 30 year old Joel Vasquez, of San Antonio, was arrested.
