‘Overwhelming in the Best Way’
Gretchen Wilson said she is an outlaw country girl, Blake Shelton loved her small town roots, and Keith Urban appreciated her artistry. And here in Fayette County, she’s still a winner.
Adams was sadly eliminated on Episode 5 of the CBS country music reality show “The Road” on Sunday, November 16, but for Adams, “Not too much has changed since the show has ended. Life is still crazy for me. Juggling family and gigs, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m hoping this opportunity will open as many doors as possible,” Adams said.
As for her friends and family, they continue to show their devotion. “They were sad to see me eliminated from the show, but there has been nothing but an outpour of love and support from everyone. It has truly been overwhelming in the best way, Adams said, “I couldn’t be prouder of myself for going for it, and I’m so thankful for all the kind and encouraging words I have received from everyone. I feel very blessed.”
On the road, Adams said she felt the love and support not only from her friends and family back home but also from others. “While we were in Oklahoma City, on show day, several of us contestants would pop outside to grab some fresh air and just try to loosen up prior to our performances. That crowd came to party. We would walk out the door of the venue, and folks were standing in line and tailgating all day. Everyone would always be excited to see us come outside. Some would even come up and wish us luck,” she said.
Looking back on her experience on the show, Adams considers it a major feather in her hat. “Having the opportunity to open for Keith Urban is a major feather in the hat for sure. Also, just getting to spend some time with folks like Blake Shelton and Gretchen Wilson, who I have looked up to and have influenced my musical career. I can’t count out the lifelong friendships that were made between us contestants, either.
