NVCC Is Planning Trip To Hatari Wildlife Park

The sounds of spring are going on at Navidad Valley Community Connections. NVCC had 19 members in the other day and had to shuffle for seating, but it was like one big happy family in the center, especially when the lunchtime meal was shared. The fellowship is so welcomed and much needed.

NVCC invites you to come on over to the center in Wolters Park on a Monday or Wednesday so you can get a feel for what goes on at the center. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on these days, and there are other activities going on throughout the week and month that you can learn about like day trips, craft activities, let’s talk gardening, paint and a movie, and book club. If you have questions, call (979) 309-9592.

The Mother’s Day Quilt will be raffled off on Friday, May 7.

NVCC had a visit from Paula Grahmann, Registered Pharmacist, who is the owner of the new pharmacy, Your Hometown Pharmacy, that opened up where the old Agave Restaurant used to be. Her presentation covered everything from compression hose to diabetic shoes and socks, to vitamins and medication plans.

The Hatari Wildlife Park day trip is scheduled for Thursday, May 13. NVCC still has two slots available, so if you want to go, let Cindy know right away. Members will carpool on this day and have drivers all lined up. Remember, a donor has offered to pay the biggest part of your ticket, so this means that your ticket will cost you $5 and maybe your lunch, if we decide to eat out. The number one requirement is that all participants must have their vaccination, which most do already, to get in a vehicle with others.

NVCC also welcomes Kyle Janda, Compliance Officer at Fayette Savings Bank in La Grange, to NVCC’s family of bingo callers. Kyle will call bingo on the last Wednesday of each month.

NVCC is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization with a mission “to provide a multipurpose organization that initiates, sponsors and promotes events, activities, and projects which enhance the quality of life for older adults in Fayette County and the surrounding communities.” NVCC is located next door to the Boys & Girls Club in Wolters Park.
