NVCC Meets Fundraising Goal, Volunteers Needed
Navidad Valley Community Connections (NVCC) is thankful for everyone’s support of the Senior Center during the Giving Tuesday event on Nov. 30. NVCC set a goal to raise $1,000 for the Senior Center.
With the support of friends and the generosity of our community, NVCC not only met our goal but the final total was $1,500 at the end of the 24-hour period. With the coming new year NVCC is planning to implement a day trip program, starting with a trip for ten members to the Brookwood Community on Dec.16. NVCC is seeking partnerships with other service providers in Fayette County to start support groups for members.
Monday, Nov. 29 Paula Grahmann, owner of Your Hometown Pharmacy, was the Lunch & Learn Series speaker. She spoke about open enrollment season for Medicare and she gave great descriptions of all the parts, from Part A to Part D. There were lots of questions and Paula stayed until they were all answered.
The Christmas lunch is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 15. NVCC is still looking for two volunteers to help with set up and clean up. If you would like to help at the Senior Center, call (979) 743-3227.
NVCC is located next door to the Boys & Girls Club in Wolters Park.
