Richard Niemann has announced his candidacy for Fayette County Farm Service Agency committee and gives this statement:

Hello Neighbor!

I have been nominated as a candidate for Fayette County Farm Service Agency (FSA) committee, which serves the Flatonia, Cistern, Smithville, Muldoon, Engle and Praha areas.

For the past 43 years, I have run a cow/calf/hay operation just southeast of Flatonia on East Old Hallettsville Road.

On Nov. 8, 2012, I was honored to receive the family land heritage “Certificate of Honor” on behalf of my family for 100 years of continuous agriculture service to the state of Texas.

I graduated from the University of Houston in 1966 with a degree in International Business and Finance.

I am a member and on the board of directors of the Independent Cattlemen’s Association of Texas. I am the board of the Flatonia Economic Development Corporation.

My wife Dianne and I have been married for 53 years. We have two children and three grandchildren.

The County Committee is responsible for the overall direction of the operations of the FSA office and the administration of farm programs in our area. As your representative I will see to it that your best interests are carried out.
