Navidad Valley CattleWomen Welcome Perspective Members

The Navidad Valley Cattle-Women (NVCW) are a local chapter of Texas Cattlewomen and have been serving the tricounty area of Fayette, Colorado, and Lavaca counties since 2004. Like any volunteer run organization, encouraging new members is critical to keep the mission alive.

NVCW membership does not require being an active beef producer, though many members are. Some are retired, some are involved through their business, and some simply love beef and are interested in promoting rural living and sustaining the agricultural practices that feed our planet.

The NVCW leadership encourage any ladies interested in learning more about the organization to come to a meeting and check us out. NVCW is a nonprofit organization that supports and promotes the beef industry. One effort involves supporting local youth with an interest in agriculture with scholarships. Additionally, CattleWomen provide quality information on the beef industry and how to incorporate beef into a healthy diet to the general public. The local ladies enjoy supporting the community with targeted outreach projects that include a beefy twist.

The next meeting of NVCW will be held on Wednesday, August 25 at Real Deal Papa Soul Food in Schulenburg 30 East Avenue. Dutch treat lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. Business will focus on the success of their recent 5K Scholarship Fundraiser, planning for next year, and support of area commercial heifer programs which are upcoming.
