Navidad Valley CattleWomen To Learn About Red Door Campaign

The Navidad Valley Cattle-Women (NVCW) are a local chapter of Texas Cattlewomen and have been serving the tricounty area of Fayette, Colorado, and Lavaca counties since 2004. To be a member of NVCW you do not have to be an active beef producer, though many members are. Some are retired, some are involved through their business, and some simply love beef and are interested in promoting rural living and sustaining the agricultural practices that feed our planet.

The NVCW leadership encourage any ladies interested in learning more about the organization to come to a meeting and check us out. NVCW is a nonprofit organization that supports and promotes the beef industry. One effort involves supporting local youth with an interest in agriculture with scholarships. Additionally, CattleWomen provide quality information on the beef industry and how to incorporate beef into a healthy diet. The local ladies enjoy supporting the community with targeted outreach projects that include a beefy twist.

The next meeting of NVCW will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at Los Cabos Mexican Grill in Columbus 2543 Hwy. 71 S. Members will gather at 6 p.m. Supper is Dutch treat. The speaker will be Cheryl Hudec Pekar who is on the board of the Fayette Community Foundation. Pekar will share information on The Red Door Fund. The Red Door Fund will directly help locals struggling with mental illness, help local families care for their loved ones who are struggling, and hopes to attract and support mental health providers and resources to our area.
