Museum Group Meets; Cherry Celebrates
Celebrates Birthday
Mitchell Cherry celebrated his 7th birthday in style this year with a trip to Chucky Cheese in Austin with a bunch of his friends, one friend was from California. They had a blast dressing up in super hero costumes and playing all the games. One of the fun games was a driving game and they all supported each other as they played. It was a fun time had by all.
Museum Meeting
The Muldoon Museum committee met on the first Wednesday of August with an excellent turn out. They discussed the various points of interest that are up coming. Randy Stork was put in charge of the first Saturday in August opening. The Muldoon Museum is open from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. each first Saturday of the month. Anyone interested in checking out relics of the area are invited to plan a trip out to Muldoon and check out the museum.
Muldoon Museum holds lots of interesting pieces of the past. Things from years ago are on display. From a quilting frame to railroad memorabilia and a whole assortment of pictures of the area, there are things from the homes of yesterday along with tools that were used in the area. Come by and see what a wonderful display of neat old stuff has been donated to preserve the Muldoon history.
Out And About
Nancy Cherry has been busy lately settling her mom’s estate in Wimberley. She and her sisters have gone through their mom’s home and divided up furniture and knick knacks alike. It has been a long road, but the new owners are very excited to have gotten such a wonderful home on the river.
Julia Speed, Andrea Russell and Jason Guerrerro came in to work on Julia’s grandfather’s house. They are still doing repairs from the big snow/freeze. While in Muldoon they slipped over and visited with Julia’s sister and brother in law, Debra and John Schwartzenburg. This was a great break for Andrea, because she has just taken her bar exam and now has a breather as she is on now on active job search.
Animals Out
There have been a number of animals out on the road lately. The oddest ones reported recently have been sheep. Please keep alert for any type of animal on the roadways, not just the normal cow, hog or deer.
School Starting
It is starting to get to the beginning of the school year again. Many of the area teachers have already gone back in and are organizing their classrooms. Please watch out for the youngsters that will be coming out in the near future to catch buses and for those young drivers headed to class.
