Multi-County Cooking Well With Diabetes Series Begins Jan. 10
For those of you with Type 2 diabetes or just interested in healthy cooking ideas, the Multi-County Cooking Well with Diabetes series is right around the corner.
Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington Counties will be hosting this amazing four-week virtual program in 2022 starting on Jan. 10. By participating, you will learn how to prepare fantastic foods with flair. Each week you will hear from area health and nutrition professionals and learn how to make ordinary meals into extraordinary meals and there is no cost for this fourweek virtual program.
Each educational session will be followed by a step-bystep cooking demonstration video entitled “Meet Me in the Kitchen!” Get prepared to create tasty dishes using simple ingredients. Finally, all participants will have the chance to participate each week on Thursday in a live Q&A with the health professional of the week (1/13, 1/20, 1/27 and 2/3).
Caregivers of Type 2 diabetes individuals are also encouraged to participate. The primary goal is to help participants learn how to manage their meal plans by understanding carbohydrates, healthy substitutions, and ways to increase fiber and lower sodium levels.
