Muldoon Museum Open this Saturday
The Muldoon Museum will be open Saturday, Nov. 1 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. There is no charge for the fun of looking at the displays of items from the Muldoon area’s past. The exhibits document the Muldoon area history and give a look back in the past into the “Glory Days,” or at least the interesting history of the Muldoon area. It is a great way to see what it was like in the past.
If you would like to get involved with preserving the history of Muldoon there will be a special meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 5:30 p.m. to start planning for Christmas in Muldoon. This is a great entry way to start getting involved with the community. And what a fun way to have a hand in planning this special time. Christmas in Muldoon has always been a fun time to start the holiday season and maybe spread a little holiday cheer. This would be great for those who love the Christmas season and love to get into the holiday season a little early.
Church News
Sweet Tea and Scriptures will be the theme for the Thursday, Oct. 30 meeting at 6:30 p.m. at The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church. The discussion will be “God made us all unique.” Ladies come dressed in your most unique outfit and join in the fun. This is a wonderful way to connect with other local Christian ladies and study the Bible.
If you are looking for a local church to get involved with, SG2C is a wonderful gathering of down-to-earth people who are worshiping God. They meet every Sunday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. with some good old fashion fellowship, coffee and goodies before worships service begins at 10 a.m. They are located in downtown Muldoon by the park.
Out and About
Roberta Gullick enjoyed a surprise visit from two of her grandsons over the weekend. Lance Hasleloff arrived with his girlfriend Mira from Humble. He wanted her to meet the family. Roberta’s other grandson, Lance Liccioni, came in from Texas A&M for a quick visit. Lance will be graduating in May with a degree in Petrochemical Engineering. After that he is planning on going back for his masters. Roberta is very proud of her grandsons and was thrilled to have them come for a visit.
Dana and Darrell Kulak slipped off to the Fort Worth area to visit their grandson Henry Kulak and his parents Elton and Miko Kulak. Dana and Darrell enjoyed just having time to just play with Henry.
Nancie and Billy Blair enjoyed a visit from Nancie’s sister and brother-in-law, Lu and Fred Ginapp from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. They had a nice visit and topped it off with dinner at Robert’s in Flatonia.
Road Hazards
Be aware when driving in the area that the wildlife is out and about. Not only are the deer out for the season, but also the hogs. The hogs do not even seem too bothered by vehicles and will keep coming across the road with traffic coming. This means if you do not see them, you will hit them.
Also, with the area being so dry there have been some cattle getting out to try and graze the roadside. Be aware as you are driving on not only the county roads, but the Farm to Markets, too.
Neighborhood Watch
Muldoon is a small community and we all have to watch out for each other. Look over and notice what is going on at your neighbors’ place. If something seems out of place give them a call and make sure all is good. Reaching out and checking on them does not take long and may prevent some kind of harm being done.
