Muldoon Museum to Open

The Muldoon Museum will be open the first Saturday in September from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. There is no admission charge to the museum which holds lots of Muldoon area history. Everything from railroad memorabilia to home items to war memorabilia, each a reflection of life in years past. The war memorabilia exhibit is being expanded with more unique items being added. The museum is open and run by volunteers and there is no charge for admission, but free will donations are welcomed to help preserve the past.

There are pictures of those who lived and raised their families in the area. There are also pictures of some streets and old buildings. It is amazing to look at these and imagine what a boom town Muldoon was back in the day.

Celebrates Birthday

Mike Hostetter celebrated his eighty sixth birthday recently surrounded by family. Mike was joined by wife Joy, sister in law Wanda Saunders, and grandkids Madison and Julio Castellano, Mackenzie Saunders, and Michael Saunders, Jr. and his wife Christina slipped in from Spicewood with their girls Landry and Blakely.

The family gathered at Michael and Pimy Saunders home to have cake and lots of fun. They swam, rode dirt bikes, did a little shooting and just had a great time out in the country. It was a wonderful time celebrating Mike.

Out And About

Nancie Blair traveled last week to see her grandson Spencer Holland and had lunch with him. Spencer graduated from Seven Lakes High School in Katy last year and is starting at the University of Houston this week.

Julia Speed came in from Houston with her granddaughters Juliana and Jocelyn Guerrero for one last trip to the country before school starts. They visited their great Aunt Debra Schwartzenburg and got to drive the Kubota and do some bird watching. Then they went to the Ivy home to visit with the cows. They enjoyed petting and feeding the weaning heifers.
