Muldoon Couple Visits the Grand Canyon
Recently Nancie and Billy Blair took off for a much deserved vacation. They traveled to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. They rode the train from Los Angeles to Williams where they took the train from Williams, Arizona to Grand Canyon Village enjoying some fantastic scenery. The best part was it was in a domed fully refurbished Pullman car. That just enhanced the experience. The report is that the views they enjoyed of the Grand Canyon were “fantastic.” They had a wonderful visit that even included lunch with their granddaughter, who is attending college in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California. Nancie and Billy had not gotten to see their granddaughter for over two years, making this trip all the more special.
Celebrates Birthday
Nancy Cherry celebrated her birthday with a surprise from her grandchildren, Caroline and Mitchell Cherry. On Monday, Caroline and Mitchell, under the supervision of their mother Lora Cherry they secretly weeded and planted flowers in her flower beds. The kids had their dad, Martin Cherry, Jr. distract Grandma so she would be surprised by the newly planted flower beds. They also brought ice cream to help celebrate the special day. Now Nancy is waiting to see what will be coming up in her flower beds.
Wildflowers
Spring has arrived and the wild flowers are out. Some local fields are just bursting with color and are beautiful. Go out and take a drive around the area and enjoy some wonderful displays of natural beauty. The weather has been pleasant and if we get another shot of rain the color display will be outstanding.
Hogs
Hogs have once again invaded the area. They are tearing up fields and making a mess of pastures. They are also crossing the roads and getting hit by passing vehicles. This in turn has brought even more hazards with the buzzards coming in for the cleanup.
Spring has also brought out the deer. They are moving around more and also are getting hit. Just be aware while out driving.
Neighborhood Watch
Spring has arrived and that does not mean we can let our guard down. Keep aware of strange vehicles or people in and around the area. If you notice something odd at your neighbors place, give them a call and make sure it is all OK. A phone call does not take long and you might be preventing a crime.
Be sure and check in on your elderly neighbors. They may be having strong allergies and unable to get out and about much right now with all the pollen in the air. A friendly face or voice might be a blessing to someone who is feeling out of sorts.
